It's a nightmare when they identify you - all they have to do is look at the receipt number or time, then consult their CCTV - most do it I'm sure, which is why I try not to shop the same place more than once every couple of months in case they recognise me!

It's the reporting that makes them remember you. For one company you have to write down something along the lines of "I had the mixed grill and my husband had fish and chips. We both had cheesecake for dessert, and no coffees". I think when the restaurant sees that with the date and time you were there, it's easy for them to remember who you were.

To be fair to me, the timing for mine >7 mins/> 20 mins were the same as the table next to me. So had they been any different i would've probably used theirs to be fairer to the excercise, and yes that would have been a lie. But as it was service was slow that night for anyone regardless of the covers at each table. so no, no fibs told!

    Sherlock! :p

PS: Sara-rara please don't say "some of us have real lives" when talking about MSing and the research needed, it's a bit of a kick in the balls for all of us that have put real effort in to build up their MSing businesses and truthfully a bit sad on your part really!

is it a bit sad that i do have a real life and don't have time to read 50 pages of this thread?

i think what IS sad is the way some people on these forum seem to think being a mystery shoper makes them some sort of secret agent.

think i'll use MY initiative and find another more helpful and friendlier forum. bye

Secret agents... well why not?!!! It's called consultancy Sara-rara!

Maz practices raising one eyebrow in the mirror "the names Shopper, Mystery Shopper" Shaken not stirred, oh and can i have a receipt please!----

shame she doesn't have the IQ, sorry i mean the time, to read a 50page thread. she'll have a hard time on most of these boards then as some are hundreds of pages.

We'll miss you, next time we want some nasty cynicism,we'll watch Newsnight!
