salesman charging for things he said he would throw in ?

I'd cancel and use another dealer just out of principle. Surely there is a cooling off period?0
-
-
And what would that principle be?
That you dont understand the invoice?
Or do you think the dealer really can get 'free' road tax?
I gather it's more the principle that it's better to do business with people who keep their word rather than those who say one thing and then do something completely different.
It's not as if there aren't plenty of other second hand car dealers about.
Not all of them are as bad as their generic reputation would have you believe. Shop around and put your money with someone you trust."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

This has been solved. The dealer promised it would be included in the £7,000 price. It was added onto the £7,000 price. Got it?
The dealer also appears to have agreed a 4 year term, then changed the paperwork to a 5 year term.
Disgraceful if the above is true.0 -
Back again.
I went back to the showroom today.
The salesman was't there that I dealt with and someone else spoke to me.
My brother looked over the figures and said they don't add up.
Basically, the sticker price is without vat
I had a written quote of 160 a month for 60 months
And 127 for 60 months
then 155 for 48 months
This person was quite rude and didn't have any customer service skills.
I asked to speak to the manager? He isn't in
And he couldn't deal with the problem
He refused to give me a copy of the document with my signature,
as they hadn't applied for the credit yet!
He said i'll rip this up right now then!
He said I have to put it in writing that I want to cancel.
I still haven't been shown the car. It was on the forecourt.
We walked out and are waiting for a call from the manager about getting my deposit back.
I might have lost my deposit, but I feel they offered me terrible service and as a potential customer, shouldn't they be trying to get your business?
What will they be like if I bought it and had a problem!
I've learnt an expensive lesson in how to not buy a car0 -

By sticker price, i mean the price the car was advertised at, not the base invoice price.
Have you a link to the advert or a link to the car on their website.
It would be wholly wrong for them to be advertising cars at a VAT excluded price. I would be very surprised if thats what they're doing.0 -

I didn't think there was VAT on second hand cars? Or Corsas for that matter.

I think youre the one who hasnt 'got it'.
The O/P has told us the price of the car was £6942.42.
They then said the price did not include VAT and that this was the 'sticker price' of the car.
They then said the amount to finance after the deposit is £6794.67.
Also, the breakdown of the figures wont be on the finance agreement, but they will be on the invoice.
And the O/P says the car was advertised at an 'excluding VAT' price.
There are massive contradictions here.
Clearly, we're not getting the full picture here, but you're automatically assuming that a Vauxhall main dealer selling a Network Q car is the one who isnt clear on their own figures??
So maybe before drawing conclusions you should wait until you've all the facts?0 -

Theres not, its calculated on the VAT margin scheme, not on the normal scheme0
