When I asked him about the money on top, as the figures didn't add up! he said that's what he meant, not free and I felt stupid for asking, as if it's normal and just don't know how it works.

But he did say he would tax it for me!

And on a nearly new car, for nearly £7000, should there be a 12 month warranty anyway?

I just want a smooth sale and a safe reliable car.

I don't want hundreds knocking off the price, just what he said

And on checking this paperwork, we had agreed 48 months, but the copy he gave me, has 60 months, which I won't accept

And I am supposed to pay another £400 at the weekend

I dont get this bit, didnt you agree on a monthly figure over x months and then check paperwork and sign.

If you have signed a 5 year finance deal arent the payments less than agreed and why didnt you check paperwork before signing

the £147 is the 12 months warranty
    then road tax £170

I haven't actually signed for the car. It is the finance I signed for

I don't want to sign and regret it.

Wish I had won the lottery.

Maybe I am too thick to buy a car and should stick to the bus

I didn't want 60 months and the car is on the website at another showroom, with different terms.

I printed them out and showed him and he changed the monthly payments to 48 months.
He gave me a small folder with some paperwork and they are the 60 month terms.

Thank you for all your help. I should have come here first for advice

If you've got that print out, you should have room to refuse the car and you have evidence.

The issue will be around the repayment amounts etc and whether the car is still affordable. If it is, and they drop the price to the sticker one, do you still want it? That might be the question you end up asking yourself.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

    i still want the car.
But need to find out about the warranty and why i am paying for it!

The tax? i can tax it myself and take that off the finance, instead of taking out a bigger loan.

i should be borrowing the sticker price, minus my deposit

Just spoke to my brother and he confirmed that the salesman did say he would tax it and that it has 12 month warranty.
he didn't mention any charge for the warranty.

I will ring them tomorrow and question this.
I will walk away if I'm not happy.

It says on the paperwork i have 14 days to cancel

I'd cancel and take my business somewhere else,

Corsa's are ten a penny. Just out of interest what spec was it.
Bedroom Tax / Spare room subsidy / Housing Benefit Reduction - It's the same thing, get over it.

A bit difficult if the finance agreement has been signed on the premises, where afaik there is no cooling off period

Are you suggesting walking away and still having to pay the finance

They can't get paid until the car has been picked up/delivered.
