i'm sorry if this is the wrong thread .. i am looking to start the process of reclaiming charges. Bit of a complicated one, currently with payplan as a debt free wannabee, so all accounts are closed have barclays, co-op bank, and a number of credit cards. I am paying them back under an aggreement (not iva) but can i still reclain charges from them? if this is the wrong place can you point me in the right direction. many thanks .0

I love this comment:-
""All the time the bank was gorging itself on the account with the charges; never once did they question if we could carry on in business."

Hi All, seeking some advise. Claiming £2500 from the Nationwide. They have paid £736 back in to my account but no correspondence backing up why. Do I need to write to them or just carry on and go to court? Also can we spend the money?
Hunty
Hi Hunty- I'm also with the Nationwide, and I claimed £535 charges, £114.43 interest and £80 court fee. I got it all, but they put it in my bank account in 2 stages- £535 yesterday and the rest today (the last day of the 40 days after they acknowledged the claim). Like in your case, there was no correspondence- the money just appeared! Perhaps they are planning to pay you the rest of what you claimed in the next few days- when is your 40 days up?0 -
NatWest - 1st letter written 28th March (recorded delivery - delivered 2nd April) phoned 9th May - said 56 days (+ 4 for bank holidays!!!) so should receive reply by 1st June. Phoned 4th June as no letter - NatWest said posted offer (for full amount - £2095) on 22nd May - no letter received. Phoned again this morning - resending letter. How long should I give them?0

Hi All,
I'm just about to start my bank charges claims against HSBC and Lloyds TSB.
Both these bank accounts have associated credit cards.
I'm a little unclear here of whether I have to request the charges separately for the bank accounts and the charges for the credit cards?
And have to pay 2 lots of £10 fees.
Does anyone know please ?
Thanks,
flenk0 -
Please help me. I sent my first letter to the bank in Feb, they came back and offered me £2,450, I was owed £3,980. Because noone had lost at that stage, I refused and took them to court. That very day was the Lloyds Case but I had literally just come off the computer when I heard it!!! 14 days have now gone by and they have just acknowledged on the eleventh hour! What should I do? Any suggestions? I did think of ringing and asking for a settlement out of court can i still do this? Does anyone think I should stick it out wait for the defence and take the chance of it going to court, can I still ask for settlement even then? Any chance the bank will write now with a settlement figure? I hear about the successes on this site but not often the failures? How often have people failed and at what stage?
Sorry I am in a slight panic but this has turned out to be a real rollacoaster!0 -

Hope that helps
