My question is, given that NatWest only agreed to the CCCS offer, froze interest etc after a lot of wrangling, culminating in a snotty letter that effectively said "Yes, well, alright, but we'll be watching you", how wise would it be of us to try reclaiming the huge amount of charges they imposed in the last 6 years? We don't want to start prodding at a wasps' nest.. besides, how likely are they to co-operate if we ask for a breakdown of charges etc?
Much thanks for any advice.0 -
i've got to point in my claim where i am sending a letter threatening court action as i am following the steps from mse reclaiming guide. i just wondered though how likely is it to actually go to court and how much will it cost me to do this? if anybody knows??0

Hi, I wonder can anyone advise on the deal with authorised overdrafts and account maintenance fees for them. I have an overdraft facility but try not to use it. If i do and go overdrawn by even £1.00 my bank impose quarterly charges for every direct debit, every ATM withdrawal, debit card use etc. In the last 5/6 years I have gone overdrawn (authorised) about 6 times but never by very much and only ever for a few days at most and each time I have been charge around £100.00 per quarter in account maintenance fees by the bank each tim I have used the authorised overdraft facility. I had difficulty understanding this as the overdraft was authorised and if push came to shove I probably would have been aswell off having an unauthorised overdraft. Help anyone?0

HI all, i started to reclaim my bank charges from halifax about 18 months ago and i got the usual reply "we have to wait until the test case" etc,
i have moved house twice since i started to reclaim and have changed address with my bank but do i have to change address with a different dept regarding the charges as i dont have a number etc!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I am also in the process of reclaiming unfair bank charges from Halifax. They are still banging the same drum; hold off until a decision some time in August (still waiting and it's 27th!) I then went through the small claims court requesting a judgement, they filed a notice of hearing application asking for decision to be waived. My hearing is tomorrow. I will also attend as my financial circumstances have worsened since I first applied.0 -
Hey ppl,
My original overdraft was £700 but because of charges I am now £1300 over drawn. I called the bank & they were really unhelpful but then I got a member of my family to call on my behalf. He went on the phone being really rude & agressive & now the bank has agreed to freeze my £28 mantainence charges & have credit £114 back into my bank account. I have not sent my reclaim letter to the bank yet but i was just wondering will my reclaim be affected since the bank has paid me £114 back? & I also called the bank today just to check my balance & the person on the phone refused to deal with me. Is this the usual reaction?0 -

I copied the template letter for reclaiming bank charges, my bank only sent details of overdraft charges. Can we claim for ATM withdrawal charges aswell as they haven't included these?
Thanks MS'0 -
