I claimed 3600 from Barclays and have received an offer of 2995 which I am on the brink of accepting. However I would like the money paid into a different account as they have suspended facilities on my account. I am overdrawn and the money I am claiming will not cover this. Is there any point asking for it to be paid into a different account.

I tried this and was basically told if the account istill active then they have the right to pay themselves with the money claimed back, my claim was with Halifax but as it is a closed (now with a DMP) that Halifax have no more control over it. Despite me owing just over £2.5k they sent me a cheque for £700. If they have frozen it then they might all of a sudden develop the power to un-freeze it if it means paying them selves YOUR money. My advice would be to phone up and ask that the amount gets sent to you by cheque, no harm trying is there

    Good luck

Just tried that - they say they have no facility to pay other than credit the account on which the charges were incurred.
  • I'm obviously very late getting into this however, please could someone clarify an answer to this specific question:

When you receive your list of Barclays statements, EXACTLY which charges can you claim? I've already seen a 'GENERIC' list, but specifically to Barclays, can you charge "o/d protection 400@£0.80/100 = £3.20"?..... and also "Account Fee 1 @ £6.00"?

Thank you in advance - fantastic site and really looking forward to getting stuck into this 'shower'!!

    Sorry!
I know you're all WAY past my current senerio no doubt..

    Changing the topic slightly here, but;
I claimed from BoS about four months ago and recieved £588 as full settlement! Problem being that my account is back in the situations it was before, and therfore I am incurring more charges. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not it was possible to just claim again for the new bank charges - as the way I see it is they are still rediculous and unlawful!

    Thanks
  • anyone had any luck with barclaycard
My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!

I would of thought so as long as the agreemnet wasn't that you couldn't persue any futher charges when you accepted the settlement.

  • Looks like court is now an inevitability.
Following on from Rise Sir Axl Rose's comments I guess I'm getting to that nervous stage now where I have concerns in what I'm claiming for. My claim also inculdes account fees & overdraft interest etc. The way I understood it, all my overdraft % had been incurred as a direct result of unlawful charges taking me further beyond my agreed o/draft limit. Am I right to do this?

You see, that's exactly why I ask the question.

I'm not in financial hardship(at least not any more), and rather than jumping in and charging the bank that actually I don't have the authority to do, worries me.

I've been viewing this forum for months and I've had my statements back for weeks, BUT, I'm not jumping in until I know exactly what I can and can't charge them for/with...
