Everyone seems to think theirs is a priority! I'm in arrears with my loan (with them) and have been defaulted on my credit cards (only paying them £1 per month). Have never been out of work before (on JSA) or been so poor and it's not nice!0 -
I have had a claim in to Lloyds TSB for £750 for a few years now. It went to the small claims court and is now on hold.
Lloyds recently got in touch with me to say they have reviewed my overdraft and will no longer be able to keep it at the same level (I don't use the account any more).
I'm just looking for a bit of advice with this. I've to phone them up to discuss things, but I don't know what to say to them. Can I still apply for financial hardship when my case has already went to the courts?0 -

Hi Gang.
Firstly, thanks to everyone posting some fantastic advise here! Which I need a bit of now...
On 20th March 09 I sent off a claim to Alliance & Leicester under Hardship (unemployed with priority debts). Recieved the I&E form within a couple of days which I returned completed the same day.
Where I need advice is this - since then I have been offered a full time job (Woo Hoo!!!) and I start today!
Do I need to inform A&L? There was nothing on the letter they sent telling me to inform them of change of circumstances so should I allow them to process as is?
Thanks guys & gals,

Hi all !!
I sent off my claim letter 2 weeks ago to HSBC for a total of £522. I have heard nothing for 2 weeks so I have just sent a second letter. I'm not sure if they will grant the claim to me as I have already claimed previously and won £175 back in 2006. Do you think they will stop me claiming twice even though these are all new charges?
I am waiting to hear anything at all... i think HSBC are one of the hardest banks to re-claim your charges back through... anyone had it easy with HSBC?
This second letter was just re-itterating the hardship case, so we'll see if that gets them moving. Could really do with that money!

Sorry lauraj87, I can not advise you anything on your query. I am sure another member of the forum will come forward with a speedy response,Good luck,
I have question to the members if i want to go ahead to the court to claim the bank charges which are total of £345,how far can i go back? the total RBS bank charges are only £345 but I am in the financial crisis right now and feel i need every penny. The RBS has replied back to me today stating that i have enough money coming in despite of submitting all the financial docs. I had sent my disability papers as well almost two months ago to support my claim to get the banks charges(referral fees). Can anyone advise me?0 -
Hi,
Wondered if anyone could give me some advice please.
To cut a long story short, I needed to extend my overdraft limit pretty urgently whilst on holiday in Canada last week. Having checked through my statements, I have noticed that there is a charge to be applied to my account- as mentioned in the title, a £100 overdraft arrangement fee. I was NOT told about this at the time and at any rate, it seems a bit hefty!!!
Would I be able to dispute this with the bank? It's HSBC.
Thanks in anticipation0 -
So I totalled up my charges back in 2007 and sent my letter to Barclays asking for my £2600 back and they replied with a letter about the test case and that I had to wait until the outcome and the decision had been made before they would make payment. Since that point I have had probably about another £600 of charges applied to my account becuase of losing my job (Got a new one now thanks!)
If the decision goes bank customers way and we get our money back can I make an addtional claim for the other £600 or will Barclays automatically take that into account and refund that as well??0 -
Where do i go next??
I have had a look at the finacial hardship section and i believe i fall into a couple of categorys.
How do i contact my bank now to progress??Is there a hardship template letter anywhere?? (have searched main site)
I did phone my bank earlier and they have made me an appointment to sort things out - dont know how they refused to lift OD refused a credit card refused to ammend my loan refused to make regular payments off OD even though i pay roughly £100 a month in charges
How do i contct the bank re: financial hardship please
***EDIT i`ve found it - it was right under my nose lol****2013 Sealed Pot Challenge Member #1960
