If you are still having all these problems with getting charges applied to your account, I don't want you to take this the wrong way but why don't you change your bank?! I also know all banks are about as bad as each other but surely a clean break 'might' help?0

I have started to claim my bank charges back from the Abbey under the financial hardship route, i received a letter this morning stating that they needed more time to investigate as it has already been four weeks, if they say i dont qualify under the financial hardship route could anybody tell me what i do next? I was a lot shocked when i totalled my charges up and they came to £9762 without interest, with interest they come to 12984.41 so i would really like them back as i could clear all my arrears with this money. I would be most grateful for any pointers.0

If they come back with a No after the 8 weeks, you can go to the financial ombudsman service. http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htmLegalBeagles0

Don't worry, hopefully he is actually looking at it and will call you with an idea of what they can do to help in the morning, if he doesn't call up againLegalBeagles0

You've all inspired me and I'll be following the steps starting tomorrow by phoning Barclays and asking for a list of bank charges!
Such an amazing website. Thank you!0 -
I have paid around 10K in bank charges over a number of years, trying to run a business kept me away from looking at the charges more in detail. The charges caused me to go bankrupt, i was paying hundreds a month and i asked for help and was refused. i have now, today been told by my bank that i will receive an offer for my bank charges - great wow etc...- but they are also saying that they will use the funds towards my amount that i owed when i went bankrupt??? i was discharged over 10 months ago so i dont owe them any money now - i have been discharged??? is this correct - can the bank to my charges to pay for my bankrupcy debts . thanks0
