Reclaim Unfair Bank Charges article discussion Part II

I feel like I may jump at any minute! Have just phoned Lloyds TSB to ask why there has been no news from them regarding our financial hardship request. They said that they have viewed the financial hardship and that is why we now are having our overdraft reduced by £16 every month. Now I understand that by us not having a overdraft we will then not be paying it off out of wages every month but how on earth is that helping our finances? Am I just being dumb? I thought they would be looking at making an offer on the £5k that they owe us.
Please tell me if this is what should be happening.
Thanks in advance.0 -

Help,
We successfully reclaimed our bank charges from the Halifax but inadvertently went over the agreed overdraft limit for one day by £6.84. Have now had a letter saying we will be charged £35 plus UOC of £28!
What is the current position on these charges? I have lost touch since we reclaimed our money back. Can I contest this still? There is always light within the dark0 -
hi, i've been reading in great detail about the bank charges reclaiming and i notice that you mentioned that if you start a reclaiming before the 13th August 07 then the bank should see out my claim before the test case, well my claim was put forward to lloyds tsb about 2 weeks before the date and still have not received any more contact from lloyds since the start of august, what steps would you advise me to take from here Kind Regards0

Hi
I recentley requested my bank charges back of £1500 over six years from Barclays and they replyed saying the courts have put it on hold and they cant do anything until they hear different about the court case.
Well my husband and i have an overdraft of £1000 but in recent months our outgoings have been a little high so we have been charged £35 a letter sometimes 3 times in a month. How can we possibly pay £105 in charges back a month when our pennies are so low maybe if the charges were a lot less we could catch up but the charges keep adding on over time and clocking up a huge bill.0 -

Just to let you know I rang them and because it was for only 24 hours as a gesture of goodwill they will forego the charges on this occasion! There is always light within the dark0 -
my bank, hsbc, has stopped making charges and introduced administration fees. will we still be able to reclaim these?0

I have sent off my 'Second Letter' asking for my charges back and I recieved a reply explaining that all the claims were on hold until the end of this OFT case.
OK
The charges I'm claiming equal £2701 and my Current Account with HSBC isn't looking good at the minute because of all these charges. The only way i'd be able to get that Account back to £0 is if I get these charges back...
Should I send HSBC another letter asking that if they're putting my complaint on hold then could they then 'freeze' my account from any money going in or out of it?
Do you think they'll do that? And if they say no, is there anything I can come back with legally?

How did you manage to reclaim that much with this court case thing?
Are they just randomly paying out without any hassle to some people to make themselves look good?"A bank* is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain."
(*Unless it's Santander. The branch says they sent you an umbrella 3 times already and don't understand why you don't have it yet and want it back right now!!!)0
