Reclaim Unfair Bank Charges article discussion Part II

Just wonder if anyone has found anything out about "cases that involve financial hardship" as per the FSA guidelines which implies that somewher in the banking code there is something that says that banks have to help in these circumstances...ie they cannot do nothing in the waiver period.
Can I find anything in the banking code of practice..???....it must be printed in invisible ink or encrypted so that only the banks can read it.
Do not send e-mail or letters to FOS. Still delays and upto 6 weeks for a reply. The best thing to do is call them and explain the situation (you then get a ref. no.). The only problem is that it seems as though you must have made your claim against the bank stating that you were in financial problems caused by excessive charges. If this is stated in any letters then I think you should be OK. If not, then still try the FOS and explain circumstances. They are understanding and will help if the can.now that don't kill me, can only make me stronger.0 -

Are these court cases postponed or are they going ahead.
Really appreciate anyone in the know telling me!

I'm currently in the process of making a claim for charges on a credit card and am calculating how much I may be due to. I'm clear about the type of charges and the statutory interest, but what about interest that has accrued on the charges that have been debited to my card? Can I make an application to claim that back too?
Thanks to Edinburghlass for posting the link to the reclaim guide but I still can't find the answer to my question.
The interest I'm referring to is not the statutory interest of 8% but the extra that the credit card company will have charged (and received because I've now repaid the debt) as a result of them increasing my debt by debiting fees to my account.0 -
You'll find a post by Rex_Mundi regarding interest in the Reclaim Help Thread and a link in the post to a thread by Martin. You can claim back this interest if you can prove it is due purely to bank charges but you have to know what you are doing.0

Thanks for this, I'll track it down. I've now repaid the whole debt so, as payments are initially allocated to lower rate portions of the loan, I think I should be able to argue that interest on the charges was only repaid at the end of the loan. The difficulty would be calculating the amount due. Still, even if my calculation was out they'd have to prove it and as long as I'm right on the principle I might get something.;)0 -
Hi this is my first post, i'm just checking to see if anyone has won against Natwest credit cards as nearly all the Natwest success stories seem to be for bank charges and not the credit cards.
So far they offered me £186 against a claim for £596 plus 67.17 interest.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just been looking at the HSBC website (they have an official statement re the OFT announcement) and it states that they believe a decision to the test case is not expected before a year. They also say that if anybody attempts to start court proceedings against them, they will apply to the court to hold the action until the result of the case is known.0

I had just sent the letter threatening to take LloydsTSB to court when the OFT announcement came. I'm claiming £434 and £91 (including interest) from my two accounts and I wonder if I should start court action now in preparation for the result of the OFT case.0
