    thanks lin
i have added up my charges and it comes to £380.30 does this mean i can ask for 8 percent interest for every year i am claiming?
its worked out on a daily basis really...say for instance one of your charges taken was in august 2001 then the interest owed would be up to date of claim, then at a daily rate...from claim to judgement..you cant offer your bank an interest amount you are claiming as you havent yet claimed you can only tell them that it is your intention to claim for the interest...check out the reclaim your bank charges help thread for letter templates to send to your bank now that you have calculated the charges..make sure also that you have claimed for charges you can claim

  • Hello,
I am looking for a bit of advice.
I have followed all the steps so far but i have come to a point where may case has gone off the normal track.
I am claiming against Abbey and a court case has been set aside for 24/08/07
Money Claim Online informed me my case could no longer proceed with them
The Judge has said allocation questionaires dispensed with and allocated the claim to the small claims track
I have to serve in court and on Abbey written statements of all witnesses?
    also a short skeleton argument?
Do I follow the same procedure as for the online case - i.e the template letter.
Also how do i recover costs - the online one cost me £120 and i have had to pay £100 for the up comming court case - so i am £220 down

This has been hanging over me as i dont know where to turn and i am running out of time as i have to serve letters etc 14 days before

    Thanks in advance Ian

    Help!!
I just realised that i've boo-booed big time. I sent my claim to Yorkshire Bank on 12th june reclaiming my bank charges of £1857.58 and had a letter basically saying get stuffed (you know the usual response). Anyway, sent another letter saying i was gonna take them to court and have heard nothing from them, so i decided to go to the Financial Ombudsman. Going through the copies of the statements to send off, i realise i've missed a load of charges off the end, £230 worth!! What do i do now, just forget about the extra or can i send them another letter stating i've made a mistake and asking for the extra? I dont understand how i missed them as i highlighted them all before i used the calculator to add them up and them pasted and copied them onto a word document. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!!

oops. personally i would ring fo and explain that you missed out some charges and follow it up with a letter to fo detailing all the charges. if when you ring they say they have already contacted yorkshire bank and have got an offer for you, return the acceptance form unsigned with a letter stating why the offer is not acceptable ie doesnt cover all the charges during 6yr period. thats what i would do. don't know if anyone else has got any better ideas. good luck.
  • A big Thank You Martin...thanks to you 2 weeks in sun coming up....

I havent actually sent the complaint form to the FO, it was when i was doing the form and i copied the highlighted statements and i noticed the extra charges i hadnt included. I'm really puzzled as to how i've done it, it wasnt even pages i'd missed, i've actually stopped mid page  . Anyway i've decided i'm gonna send another letter to the bank stating the error (although i dont know how i'm gonna word it, they'll think i'm a proper numpty:doh: ) and then add it to the total and send the form to the FO. If they have ignored my letters i've already sent, i dont think theyre gonna be any different when the amount is more, but i thought i might as well claim for everything i can.

I did as then they cant say they didnt receive it as you can trace it. It only cost £1.10 for a standard letter.
