    claimed £14.125

Started the process as per your advice, after 4 weeks letter to say they would not repay anything as it was a business account, Is there perhaps a problem because it is in Scotland, or should I keep trying?

Have a read of this thread regarding business accounts...

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=270122&page=12

slight differences on what you can claim as you'll see from that thread.

As you are in Scotland it may be you would be better putting your claim to the Financial Ombudsman, have a read of Martin's article and you'll find IZZY in the above link doing just that and he'll help you along.

    Hi

Well it's scary business especially a single mother taking on Loyds. I sent my letter on 10 July asking them to pay with detailed charges as I had the majority of my statements already. I received a response on 20 July, lengthy letter explaining that like other business they charge for their services, blah blah and more blah blah. There was a paragraph asking to let them know if there is anything else they can do. The said if we cannot come to an agreement, I will provide details of the Financial Ombudsman. Do you think they are inviting me to negotiate and offer?

Standard letter from the bank, you now need to send out the next letter telling them you will be starting court proceedings and give them 14 days to reply.

I have tried searching for information on this subject but am new to this forum so forgive me ( and please point me in the right direction) if it has been answered before but I am asking if it is possible to reclaim charges made by my building society for late payments etc. or does this only apply to the banks?
    Thanks for any help.

If you mean for a mortgage account then yes you can claim for late payment fees.
  • I have had the same reaction, do you know if any one has been successful with this?

I have been to court and case rescheduled why charges etc are disclosed to solicitors.

The solicitors have list of my charges and full claim now and have offered £1915 - My total claim is for £3200 but in that i included little things like £4 overdraft charge and overdraft interest. The solicitors are saying that i cant claim for this????????

Has anyone who has won claimed for this or just the bigger fees?????

What makes it more complex is that since starting the claim i have emmigrated to New Zealand so didnt make court and wont in future although i did request hearing to be heard in my absence and providid court with all supporting evidece.

What do people think, accept £1915 as its money i would have anyway or hold out for the full £3200, albeit with some risks???

  • Having read through this whole forum I am confused as to exactly what I can reclaim from Barclays Bank. I have received my statements and we do have an overdraft facility but we have charges that are called:

    Paid Referral
    Unpaid Out

Am I right in assuming that I cannot reclaim interest charged and overdraft fee?

I know there is a list of what you can claim back at the beginning of this forum but it does not relate specifically to Barclays. Any help would be gratefuly received as I need to get my letter off to Barclays.

  • Hi,I recieved a letter from my bank telling me that charges was fair and just blah, blah, blah, and if they did'nt hear from me they would take it I was satisfied with their decision,so I sent a reply telling them I was unhappy and would be starting court proceedings 14 days from my letter,I also handed my case over to the F.O at the same time as I posted my reply to the bank...The thing is the F.O contacted me saying they would deal with my case but I have had no response from the bank as yet, their 14 days ran out yesterday(friday 20th). Can anyone advise me what I should do,should I leave it be or should I start legal pros.....PS..Im claiming £2952.00 and I live in Scotland.

You need to make up your mind if you are going with the FO or starting legal proceedings and as you live in Scotland I would suggest you go with the FO.

    Bank: Lloyds Tsb
    Amount Reclaimed: £1282
    Amount paid: £750

Took a few months, didn't give me the option to accept said that this was their final and only offer and if I didn't agree I can go to the FOC, which I will be doing to reclaim the remainder.
