[My son is having to fight lloyds for his bank charges can anybody tell me if he will have to attend the court hearing ? I would be grateful for an answer to this as it has cost £120 so far Elizabeth0

If it gets to a court case then yes he should attend as it is him who is taking the bank to court. However there is no point in worrying about that until he actually has a court date and then you'll find plenty of help as to what will happen should it actually come to going to court.0

Hi,I am in the process of claiming B.O.S/halifax and surprise surprise they sent me a letter saying that there charges were fair and just,so I wrote to the F.O and recieved a complaints form this morning.
The thing is there is a question in the form that I'm not sure about,it reads;"When did the advice, transaction or poor service that you're complaining about take place?"..and then it ask's for a date, can anybody tell me what date I should put in as I am claiming back six years?0 -

James,
I put the date of the first charge in this part. I too am claiming through the FO from BOS and found that looking through this site, they are one of the worst to deal with. I sent my details to the FO on 15th June and received a letter on 11th July to say that they had wrote to the BOS asking them to refund in full or supply them with information as to why they weren't refunding. Hope it won't take too long now,
Cheers, Izzy0 -

I too am claiming thru the FO with HSBC. James, if you follow Martins advise about the FO on this site, it gives you step by step instuctions on how to fill it out, so that's the best thing to do as you can't go wrong.
IZZY - I too had the same letter back of the FO on 10th July, let's hope it will get sorted soon!! Although it does say in the letter, if I haven't heard by 6 wks (!!!!! ) then they will contact me - I HOPE IT'S NOT MORE!!
Good luck

I didn't have copies of bank statements as no printer but i wrote them all down at the initial stage wks ago and made 3 photocopies at the time! If you have them, then yes send them, you could always call them just to make sure. Don't forget to add the interest on!! You never know, you might be luckY

Can any one tell me what my next step is, I gave Barclays 14 days to accept my offer (75% of total), but they came back and told me it could take 4 to 6 weeks. Should I just go with the flow or demand they give me my money, Im worried that if I come across bolshy they will make the process more difficult.0

As said many times on this forum, you call the tunes, in other words, you have given Barclays 14 days and that is the time scale. Your next step is to give them the warning that within 7 days, if they have not refunded your money, you will proceed with court action without further notice.
Ensure you ask the question "how do you calculate your charges, please give me a complete breakdown".
As far as Barclays making the process more difficult, REMEMBER, they are on the wrong side of the law, you are on the right side so if they ignore your timescale, more fool Barclays BankThe Winner Takes it All0 -

Trace,
The letter I received from FO was dated 10th july. I have read somewhere that the FO send mail out in batches. Seems to be the case, going by some other posts I have read, regarding dates etc. How have you found the FO? I have found that they are very helpful and pleasant to talk to. I get the impression they are very much on our side!! Keep you posted of my progress
Cheers Izzy0
