A follow on from my previous posts re Barclays pre-empting our court action by playing dirty and saying they were looking into our complaint and then, dirty b++++++s sending a summons within 8 days of that letter. Dirty or what. Anyway we have all the letters to go in our court bundle. We still have not received the court date! My poor son is worrying himself sick as we are doing this on his behalf as he is ill. I was worried at the beginning but whilst apprehensive, I am ready for the fight!ffice:office" /><O:p></O:p>
Barclays wrote on 26th June and told us they were still investigating our complaint and that it would take another 4weeks (that is 10 weeks all told) to complete their investigations. I believe they have no idea that a summons has been sent. They do not seem to know what other departments are doing, in other words the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing!
Anyway, on 29th June, we sent another letter to them with the following wording:
“We only require one question to be answered and find it difficult to believe that an organisation such as Barclays are in such a dilemma that they cannot give a response within the timescale they advocate in their complaint procedure that is the request that I made. The question is…<O:p></O:p>
I require Barclays bank to give me a full and complete breakdown of their unfair charges over the last six years from the statements you hold and that I have in my possession and How do you calculate your charges”?
I hope if we do go to court that we can call on the help of the Fighting Fund QC0 -

HSBC Claimed £1300 including interest at beginning of May
Received £1000 excluding interest beggining July
I had claimed for a period slightly over 6 years and they will only pay 6 years back. Would pay the interest but who cares! I now owe my bank manager lunch!
Cheers Martin, I feel a very happy rebel !:beer:0 -

Hi can anyone help me bank charges with the rbs
just got a letter offerin me £697 i was claimin £987
i was happy with the offer so i rang them they said the would only pay the money into my account and not by cheque
but because i'm overdrawn with their bank charges
and i have a loan with them the £697
would pay off my overdraft and reduce the amount i owe of the loan
so i would not see a penny of the £697
seems so unfair the bank charges where over the last couple of months
so they pay me with one hand and take it back with other:mad:
i'm really p off:mad:0 -
It is standard practice for the banks to pay any monies reclaimed into the account that is claimed from.0

Katie, well done, you have successfully created a "check mate" situation with Barclays Bank. As you know, in the game of chess, not too different to what we are are doing, once the major pieces cannot move anywhere, you have won. Barclays could make a move by telling you how they calculate their charges BUT THEY WILL NOT. Will they tell the Court NO
What has happened in Hull, is that Yorkshire Bank have been given the opportunity to come clean by 28th Sept. We all know they won't and so Yorkshire Bank must eat humble pie. Clearly the lawyers for Yorkshire Bank thought that the Judge in view of his previous comments was a "walkover".
THEY MADE A BIG ERROR !
The same will apply to Barclays Bank .... will they be the next bank that a Judge asks the same question. Continue asking the same questionThe Winner Takes it All0 -

Bank: NatWest
Amount Claimed: 3872.00
Amount Rec: 4156.00
Took 3 letters & approx 4 months
Sent letter threatening Court Procs, got letter back saying it would take 6-7 weeks. Decided to wait before issuing on them, made several phone calls and today received 4156.00 without any Court Procs.
Thank you Martyn for the support to do this!:T :T :T :T :A
Excellent news. Well done. :T I have also made a claim with Natwest and have sent them several emails. Got a response last week saying that my claim was being looked at and that an offer letter will be with me in the next 14 days. Just wondered, which number you phoned to chase things up? - would like to phone and check on the status. Also, when they sent you the letter, how long until you actually got the money?0
