Just a quickie, 14 days were up for Halifax yesterday after the threaten for court letter, i was just wondering if it is worth giving them a ring and start badgering them over the phone? Also if i have no joy i can't decide whether to to do MCOL or go through the Ombudsman, any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks Sparky

STARTED PROCESS IN FEBRUARY , STILL NOTHING AND INFACT HAD ABOUT £600 WORTH OF CHARGES THIS YEAR SINCE STARTING PROCESS , MY BANK RECOMMENDED I TAKE A LOAN OF THEM WHICH WOULD INCREASE MY MONTHLY OUTGOINGS TO PAY OF THEIR CREDIT CARD AND OVERDRAFT . CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE ?
If you have been dealing with your case since February you could be putting this through the Financial Ombudsman now. Please read the updates in Martin's article about using the FO.0 -

Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount claimed: £2963 INC INTEREST AND COURT FEES
Amount received: £3094.50
I sent the original letter on 17/4/2007 asking for my bank charges to be repaid. I received the usual reply, that they are looking into our complaint. After 14 days I sent the 2nd letter, still no offer of payment, so filed MCOL on 6/5/2007, which was defended by Lloyds. I received a notice the defence was to be struck out by Boston County Court on 19/6/207they had until 3/7/2007 to object. I rang SCAM daily and was told on thursday that a settlement offer had been sent out to me offering the full amount which I have received this morning. :j :j :j
My TSB claim has been acknowledge. Can you please explain about the defence being struck out, what does this mean, and who is SCAM? Sorry if I sound a bit thick but I realy do need all the advice and help I can get. Obviously, TSB are the only bank who seem to be fighting back so I just need to be fully prepared for the journey. Many thanks. and well done on your success:T0 -

THANKS LASS , I WAS GIVEN INFORMATION BY LlLOYDS SAYING IF I WAS UNHAPPY I COULD CONTACT THE FO , BUT THEN IT SAYS IN THE LETTER " HOWEVER IF YOU BEAR WITH US THEN WE WILL MONITOR TO SEE IF AN AMICABLE SOLUTION CAN BE MET " BUT THEY DONT CONTACT ME ?0 -
You either need to take the bank to court or pass the claim over to the FO as if you don't do either they will just leave your claim languishing in their inbox.0

Hi
Just had my MCOL claim acknowledged and the bank have instructed a Manchester based solicitors firm (Cobbetts). The Acknowledgment indicates that they intend to defend all of my claim. I understand that they now have 28 days from the date of my claim service to file a defence (and may not bother defending at all). Should I be writing to the solicitors demanding any information that may help me prepare my claim in readiness for an anticipated court hearing....or should I just be patient and await developments?
 many thanks0
