    do you have to get statements from bank or can i add it up via internet and bypass the first letter.

    You can use the information from the online account but it would be best to print it off now. There have been cases reported where once a refund has been requested the online banking suddenly wont work anymore and access is denied. You will need proof of all charges reclaimed so print them off asap just in case. :)

    It doesnt say much about the Allocation Hearing so perhaps someone who has been through it can post their experience but hope that helps a tad :)

    Hi to all...would greatly appreciate some help....I've successfully claimed back charges from Halifax....but now want to go and get those charges from my Halifax credit card....and from an old woolwich account.....Where do I find info regarding these 2 requests?? After my my win today...(just got back nearly £3000)...I feel 'charged' up to get the rest from these too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    You can claim from a credit card in the same way as bank charges. The names of the charges are different but you can reclaim Late Payment and Overlimit Fees.

    As regards the closed account if you have the account number then just send off the SAR as usual. The reclaiming process is exactly the same as on an open account. If you dont have the account number then write to the bank with your SAR giving full name and address with postcode and your date of birth. The date of account opened/closed may be helpful and the type of account. They should be able to trace you with those details.

    Good luck :)

    They are prints of the microfiche films they store. Without the full statements you will have to just claim what you see - but you still have 6 years after the event to dig out your old statements and claim - I split my claims between statements I had and statements I had to send away for ;)
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)

    Hi Twinkly....sorry to sound so dim...but what is SAR??
  • STARTED PROCESS IN FEBRUARY , STILL NOTHING AND INFACT HAD ABOUT £600 WORTH OF CHARGES THIS YEAR SINCE STARTING PROCESS , MY BANK RECOMMENDED I TAKE A LOAN OF THEM WHICH WOULD INCREASE MY MONTHLY OUTGOINGS TO PAY OF THEIR CREDIT CARD AND OVERDRAFT . CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE ?

    THING IS WITH MY BANK I HAVE ACTUALLY PAID OF LOANS TO THEM TOTALLING OVER £8000 IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS IF I HADNT I WOULD HAVE HAD THE MONEY TO COVER .

    I ASKED THEM TODAY TO HELP ME OUT AS I FELT THAT CHARGES OF £275 IN ONE GO WAS TOO MUCH , THEY SAID THEY COULDNT AND ITS NOW COME OFF EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT HAVE THE FUNDS IN MY ACCOUNT BUT THEY HAVE PROBABLY WORKED OUT I GET PAID ON FRIDAY , WHAT THEY TOLD ME WAS THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO THEN SUGGESTED THE LOAN BUT THAT WOULD INCREASE MY MONTHLY OUTGOINGS AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE £175 OFF CHARGES COMING OF NEXT MONTH , AND THERES ME THINKING YEAH AND THE FACT IM NOW OVERDRAWN MEANS MORE CHARGES .
    THEY ALSO DENIED OFFERING THE LOAN WHEN I PHONED BACK TO SAY I DIDNT WANT TOO TAKE IT AS I COULDNT AFFORD ANYMORE OUTGOINGS .

    SO ALL THE CLAPPING YOU GUYS ARE DOING , IM JEALOUS COZ LlOYDS TSB ARENT RESPONDING TO ALL MY LETTERS OR PHONE CALLS AND HAVE LEFT ME WONDERING HOW DO I GET THROUGH THE NEXT MONTH WHEN THEY TAKE THAT AMMOUNT OFF IN ONE GO AND LEAVE US WITH VIRTUALLY NOTHING TO LIVE OFF ...

    :confused:

    Hi All,
    Just a quickie, 14 days were up for Halifax yesterday after the threaten for court letter, i was just wondering if it is worth giving them a ring and start badgering them over the phone? Also if i have no joy i can't decide whether to to do MCOL or go through the Ombudsman, any advice will be gratefully received.

    Thanks Sparky

    Judge warns banks over fee cases

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6250878.stm

    The threat by Judge Grenfell of forcing a legal test case over the issue of bank charges is likely to have rocked the banks

    If and when there is a test case .....

    That could see all the banks being forced to go back through their records for the past six years, repaying overdraft charges to every single customer who they have charged in that time.

    And it's this fact alone that enables YOU to get your money back !!!

    WHAT MONEYSUPERMARKET SAY
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6747857.stm

    Thre moral of this as it always has been is ...

    ASK YOUR BANK TO EXPLAIN YOUR CHARGES, YOU WANT A FULL CALCULATION.
    Regardless of their excuses, their fob offs, their threats and intimidation. When they say they will defend, just remind them you will ask the court for a full breakdown of the charges.

    THE FACTS:
    This is currently costing the banks £££MILLIONS.

    IF THEY ARE FORCED TO EXPLAIN THE CHARGES ..
    IT WILL COST THEM
    £££££ BILLIONS
    The Winner Takes it All
