i have just recievd another letter from Barclays telling me that they are still investigating my claim and will be in touch with me no later than 10th July. This follows about three other letters telling me the same thing with no outcome other than a later date for another letter. I have tried to fill in the claim form for taking it to court but cant get any further as do not have the £120 that its going to cost me. Any ideas? pleeeeeease????? this has been dragging on since beginning of March!

You can pass your claim to the Financial Omubudsman which is free, have a read of Martin's article for more information regarding this.

Thank you Edinburghlass - think I'll go for that option! :D
Will keep you posted how it goes. As Barclays have treated the claims with total disdain and been very patronising, I've decided to add the interest now too. ;)

Many people are now facing the decision of whether to take the bank to court or go via the Ombudsman.

I think this leaflet - EX50 on fees published by the HMCS (Court Service) is very useful indeed. Here's the link (PDF) version It's very clear and itemises all the different costs you may need to pay. Costs are one of the considerations many of us take into account.

The Moneyclaim website and helpline are very good too i.m.o. You will find that the staff at Moneyclaim will try to help you if you get stuck when filling in your N1 claim / Moneyclaim online form.

It may be useful to have a link on here to it somewhere as people keep asking 'how much does it all cost'.

Yes you do, if there is any debt outstanding on the account in question they have the right to offset any money claimed against this debt,

There is a link in the Reclaim Help Thread along with the link to the exemptions of court costs.
