hi, just to ressure people who are at the MCOL stages with Halifax.
i got to the 28 days to defend stage with them and a few days before this was up they sent me a letter stating they would settle in full, and i would get the money in five working days. to cut a long story short they didn't pay me and i phoned up the customer services manager (his number was on the letter, but i'll dig it out and post it again) and politely informed him i hadn't stopped the court claim as i hadn't recieved my money yet etc etc. it was in my bank account the next day.
    halifax: settled paid £2622.18:j
lloyds tsb: £1038.83 inc interest, but claim on hold.

Have just recieved a letter of the court with the transfer of proceedings to my local court, with it was lloydsTsb defence. Looking through the threads l see it is the standard response, l am busy getting my court bundle ready i.e my account of the charges from lloyds , a statement of each charge l have pain stakingly gone through plus all letters to and from lloyds (not many from l should add) can`t think of anything else. Would it be worth going to the bank and picking up a terms and condition leaflet as dont have one from when l opened the account(who does).
Plus has anyone called their solicitors Sechiari Clark and Mitchell to see if they will settle before the court hearing would love to know thans

Also recieved an offer from Barclaycard after first letter, but have written back declining and stating l would settle for a slightly smaller amount than what l`ve asked for, anyone else done the same thing

I did speak to Sechiari Clark and Mitchell but they wouldn't discuss their client with me, Data protection etc.,. I have undertaken twenty two
claims for refund charges for my family group, I have been very successful
with twenty one of them, however Lloyds TSB credit card is the one failure to date, all for a measly £508 including interest and court fees. The case
is due to be heard during the first two weeks of August, I decided yesterday
to write to their agenst SC and M to suggest that this mickey mouse amount is paid forthwith. I will let you know the reply, if I get one, I did try to gee
them up at Card Services, Brighton but ignorantly they have not had the
courteousy to reply. It is frustrating for me as I was never a Lloyds TSB
customer, merely being swallowed up when they took over Scottish Widows.
I have to confess that they are the most obnoxious bank/credit card lot I have had to deal with. I can't wait to cut the card up and be free of Lloyds.

I have claimed against Barclays and was given a Court date in August. As a
suggestion, on their Defence form you will see a name and a telephone number of a Barclays Solicitor. Ring that number, the answer I had was - we
do intend settling with you the full amount you are claiming, we try to settle three weeks before the Court date. This worked for me, I did the same with
my Barclaycard claim and both were settled and paid to me within fourteen
days of my call to the Litigation & Disputes office. 0207 116 4753

I would add that you don't ring that number unless you have issued Court
proceedings and a defence is received from the Defendant and a Court date
    is set.
  • Apologies if this has been debated before. I wrote twice to Lloyds TSB in February and March seeking details of charges/statements. Each time I had a letter back saying they will need more time. Finally in May I complained to the Information Commissioner. A letter was sent to Lloyds by them at the end of May (so I am told).

Is there anything else I can do or can the Bank just continue to ignore me?

I attempted to phone the Nation wide recently because I accidentally overdrew on my account.I was transfered three times to dept. which took 11.5 minutes. In the end I was so frustrated I e-mailed,hence I have been charged £20.this was for one day. When I wrote they said sorry for bad customer service but refused to redeem my £20. I`ve told them I will change my bank if they don`t refund. They are usually a good bank to deal with, but they get the interest on my money. I am so cross.
