Amount £700.00 got back £550.00.

This is my first post on the forum - I have been using Martins site and information to help me reclaim my bank charges (I also got money back from them because they over charged me when I changed my mortatage over - again thanks to info on Martins site).

It took me months to get my butt into gear and write to the bank and Im glad I did ............... so if anyone else is wondering if to writeto the bank - then my advise is do it and your will be pleasently surprised (Im sure)

THANKS :-)
Firstly, i'm glad you got your money back, after all its your money!!
Its taken me months to get my butt into gear too. Just recieved my letter back from Wool.. yesterday saying they aim to resolve the matter by the 17/07. (Hope it is resolved by then as i dread the thought of court)!

• Received a Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing) N157 this week.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

It says it is a preliminary hearing of the claim and should take no longer than 15 mins.

Also that the Judge has considered the statements of case and allocation questionnaires.

The bank has appointed a solicitor.

My queries are:

• Do I need to get my ‘Court Bundle’ together for this. If not is there anything I should send in.
• What is the Judge referring to ‘statements of case’.
• It says that you do not have to attend so long as you give the court 7 days notice, is it better to attend.
• Is there likely to be another court date for a final hearing.

Hope someone can help – was nervous a few weeks ago – but am very determined to see it through to the bitter end.

• Does anyone else have the same problem?

I wrote twice to Lloyds/TSB in February and March seeking details of charges/statements. Each time I had a letter back saying they will need at least 40 days. Finally in May I complained to the Information Commissioner. A letter was sent by the Commissioner to Lloyds at the end of May.

Is there anything else I can do or can the Bank just continue to ignore the situation?
• I have been in correspondence with Halifax for around 12 weeks on behalf of my daughter and they have just sent her an offer of only half what she is claiming, she is owed 2100.00. They have paid it in to her bank account already? They have told her that if she does not accept this offer then it will go through the Financial Ombudsman and she would have to wait another 6 months before anything is sorted. I feel like they are trying psycological blackmail to get my daughter to take their offer. Has this happen to anyone else?

Dear Martin

The story so far.........

Sent first letter claiming charges of £1968.72 Inc intrest to Lloyds/tsb on 24th April 2007.I recieved a letter from the bank this morning (Friday 22nd June 2007) with four paragraphs explaining how their charges are fair. then on the 5th paragraph......

''Generally we dont agree to adjust any of these charges, but I can tell you that on this occasion we are prepared to repay you £750 in full and final settlement of your complaint''.

After reading this letter I logged on to my internet banking and the £750 was already in my account.

Could you please advise me on how to get the rest of my money back as £750 is less then 50 percent of total charges, Also what should i do with the money, shall i return it to the bank? please help.

Hi Bankbandit
Not sure who you're replying to but if it's me........

Yes. They sent a chq to arrive on the 28th day. (The account had been closed for 18 months.............!) Just continue to gather any evidence. I copied and pasted every Nationwide success story too......well they tried to tell me they couldn't possibly refund MY money as it wouldn't be fair to all their other members!!!!!!! So, to prove what rubbish that was.....! If your account is still open then they will probably pay direct to it any time from about 1 week before untill the deadline itself so keep looking.
Good luck
...and I apologise if this post was not to me! I've become addicted to this site:D
