It is right about reading the reviews, the person on the phone read them to me, he even quoted TA to me saying it was ranked very highly, I'm sure it is, sure people loved it, sure it could be the hol of a lifetime but there seems some negatives that are really putting me off, post 15 for eg, he would not have taken the time and trouble to write such a lengthy review if he did not feel it:D

Sod trip advisor. We went to Kos and TA revues slated it, it was wonderful. Went to Mallorca, looking on TA wonderful revues. Nasty hotel (5* expensive) and even while there people were raving about it.

Your holiday will be what you make it, I now chose for myself, yes I check out the revues but if I book something myself I have only me to blaim if its crap lol.

Have a wonderful time Victory, you deserve it after the ups and downs you had last year xxxx

PS if you do change to Las Americas watch out for the bloody touts.

Hi Victory - I only ever book after looking on Tripadvisor. There's 168 excellent reviews compared to the the 40+ bad! When looking at TA I have a look at the person's other reviews to see if they're natural moaners, how many reviews they've done, some people use TA to do a one off moan, a lot of people don't review to say they've had a great time as people only complain when things go wrong. I look to see what they're actually moaning about, for example most people are really fussy eaters & their biggest complaint can be about the buffet meals saying all the food's the same, or there's no pie & chips, of course there ain't you go abroad for something different. Then I decide to risk it, I've only ever got it wrong once & that was before my TA days. Your partner's right holidays are what you make them. If you still don't feel happy after that then maybe book another hotel. Enjoy!

Did I read correctly that it's only for 2/3 days? If so and you're AI are you really going to want to be venturing too far from the hotel so does it really matter that it's isolated/inaccessible? (Okay, I'm not selling it well :o )

If it was for longer I'd definitely change it though but not top PDLA :rotfl:

Los Cristianos would be ideal. It really is the best of both worlds. Quiet, yet very close (within easy walking distance) from Americas. Very few beaches on Tenerife have white sand, it's part and parcel of holidaying on a volcanic island. If it's any use, taxis are regular and inexpensive if you want to go further afield. We travelled with Thompson and I would recommend Granada Park. I have been there twice, once with a friend and once with family and loved the friendly atmostphere and the proximity to the local towns.

I think touting for timeshare may have become illegal. We were harrassed years ago, but it doesn't go on any more. The worst thing about Tenerife is waiters trying to drag you into their restaurants. A simple smile and no thank you usually works.

Does the £300 include flights and 3 nights all inclusive for 2 adults? If it does, I'd stop worrying and enjoy it.

For that sort of price you're doing well. You won't find anything with glowing reviews across the board. Not till you're spending considerably more.

I imagine AI for 3 nights is relatively limited as well as usually people stay for at least 7 nights if not 10 or 14!
  • Ive been looking into Teneriffe for a while and fancy Costa Adeje, have you looked at hotels there?
