What company have you booked with?
Low cost holidays, went to thomson in town, was going to be £103 more, googled and got it myself on the phone saving the money , getting all the ideas etc from the agency but when it came to it the internet was cheaper0 -
You're not half putting pressure on that holiday eh!
I think whatever you do, you should RELAX, stop panicking, because if you keep thinking of what might go wrong, it could well become a self-fulfilling prophecy! If one little thing is not "perfect", it could just ruin the whole thing for you with that state of mind.
What if it rains, what if you get a bad back, the towels are off-white...etc...Will it mean your "perfect" holiday will have been completely ruined? You should lower your expectations from "picture perfect" to "realistic", and relax; this way anything good will come as a nice suprise!0 -
Why?.....................................
I haven't been to tenerife for a while now, so i'm probably out of date, but Los Critianos was, at the time, the best of both worlds.
It was close enough to get back and forth to PDLA and amenities but not so close you had to put up with some of the OTT stuff.
Veronicas "strip" in PDLA was my idea of holiday hell but it might be exactly what you want.
I don't understand people who go on holiday and then go to "british" bars to eat english food and watch emmmerdale, Corrie and Stenders but some people want that.0 -

I know I am, it has been a long time, many years, I feel all sorts, guilt to pay for the holiday taking money off the house, leaving my son, I want my OH to leave his worries at home over the health etc, put a smile on his face, I really wanted to go to Venice but cannot afford it at all, I know perfect never ever exists and never will but I wanted it to be super great then;)0 -

I wanted a paella:D love spanish food, tapas, love it, OH does too, a good ol british breakfast/roast/cuppa I can make myself:D0 -
The professional photos look heavily enhanced, the travellers are far less flattering, but it can't be up a hillside it it's right next to the beach surely?
Honestly, if you're not happy with it, change it, if you get there and it's a bad as some of the reviews suggest you will feel awful and so will your OH.
Where else are you considering?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I don't think it's a case of 'what would you (i.e. other people) do' but more 'what do you want and what are you going to do'.
What sort of holiday are you looking for? Quiet or lively?
I'd quite like the idea of adults only.
Hard beds would be a bonus for us.
I wouldn't like AI but that's because we like to choose what, when and where we eat.
Someone said El Medano is 10 minute walk away, not 20.
That just highlights the difference in reviews.
Maybe the '20 minute' people were geriactrics or maybe the '10 minute' people were Olympic-standard walkers.
Who knows?
From the 577 reviews, 168 gave 5* and 201 gave 4*.
So, 60+ % thought it was excellent or very good with less than 8% voting for 'terrible'.
Personally, if you are worried you've made the wrong choice and the tour operator/agent say you can change, I would serioulsy think about it.
Making sure you read the reviews before you decide, of course.0 -

Playas de las americas, I can't walk too far so was thinking to be within the area where it is all going on, rather than up a mountain, as for the beach it is black sand, very windy, very cold and no one actually uses the beach other than the windsurfers, walk 20 mins down the road and there is a usable beach and a few restaurants etc0 -

Right- the original idea was romance-Venice, not happening, no lottery win:rotfl:, wanted some lively, well people and things happening rather than isolation etc
I like the idea of adults only, sometimes when you have left yours behind you don't want to be hearing or seeing everyone elses:D0
