I have booked a day trip to Dublin for Dbf and me in July for 4p return :D

Just checked the a days car packing at East Midlands costs £18 (not checked Quidco yet!) and we will get the Dublin Pass for the day which includes free transport to/from airport and entrance to the brewery and other places we want to see for £40 (for the 2 of us!).

So a great day out for around £60 (if we take a picnic!)!

Shame its all mon-thurs.. dont think i can take any more days off work :(

have just booked East Mids to Dublin for end August staying 1 night. Looks like its 10p for the five of us. Thanks OP!

I hope we won't get charged any more as it appears to be in the blackout period - oh well we'll give it a go!

Just have to book a hotel now. Any ideas?

    Thanks BB

  • I have a couple of questions., partly prompted by the picnic idea. Can you now take drinks on flights? we are going to denmark. Also I selected no bags as I have only been able to go 2 days in Oct holiday the days before and after go up by over £100 for 3 of us with taxes etc. Anyway when I tried to select no bags I could only seem to do it with priority online check in. I gave up in the end and paid the £4 each as I didn't want to lose the flights. Has anyone else had this problem?

They are being a bit sneaky about this. You have to select an option from the dropdown box and a line will appear underneath in small text offering you a link to REMOVE. Only then will the 0 bags option appear.

Doesn't sound as though you are encouraged to take drinks:

    Info from the Ryanair site:

"New European Union hand baggage security restrictions will take effect on all flights to and from EU/EEA airports from the 6th November 2006 onwards. Consequently, from this date, passenger hand baggage containing any liquids, gels, pastes, lotions or liquid cosmetics MUST be presented at the airport passenger security point in a transparent re-sealable bag of no more than one litre capacity (e.g. 20cm x 20cm ziplock freezer bag). Only gels, pastes, lotions and liquid cosmetics in containers of 100mls or less will be permitted through the passenger security screening points at all EU/EEA Airports, please note there is a limit of one transparent resealable plastic bag per person*.

    You can still:

*Carry in hand baggage - baby food or medicines needed during the flight. These items should be packed in a separate resealable plastic bag and presented at the airport passenger security point.

General Information on Ryanair's Hand Baggage Allowances

Each passenger is permitted to carry one piece of hand luggage to a maximum weight of 10kgs and with dimensions no greater than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. In order that you and your baggage can be accepted for travel, please ensure that baggage is within the required weight and dimensions to carry on board.

    Checking In for Ryanair Flights

Passengers should check in no later than 2 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure, to allow sufficient time to check in and to clear security. Flights cannot wait for passengers delayed at security points."

Thanks so much for this post! I have booked to go from Manchester to Dublin from 7-8th August. Have not been to Dublin before, can anyone tell me how far it is to the city centre and how much a taxi is likely to cost please? Also has anyone stayed at Jurys Parnell St and any comments - good or bad! - gratefully received!!
    Thanks all
  • You can't take drinks through security but you can buy some once you are through and take them on the plane with you.

    On till midnight tomorrow.

Read first page for how to book. Common problems are sorted throughout this thread.
