Why can't girls play with trains and boys with barbies if that's what they want.

DS has a Barbie 4x4 :) and enjoys putting on my lipstick. I just know he'd love a dolls house but DH won't let me get one.

Had a good day :D DS was a darling and played nicely all day. A whole 5p to the small change pot after treating ourselves to a Cornish pastry and a cake. nomnomnom

Isn't that what Father Christmas is for - to get those little children the presents they love. Who is DH to question the elves who choose the presents for Santa?:rotfl:

Oooh... cornish pasty - LOVELY. Given me an idea as well for some food next week, as I love a HM cornish pasty.

Had a lovely weekend :) But am now stressed about the idea of DS going to preschool/primary!

Preschool runs 9-3. Do I enlist Nan's help in picking him up and miss that part of the day or do I see if work will let me work 9:30-2:30 or do we keep him in nursery till primary school starts and then ask if i can work 9-3 then? Arrrgh :(

Hi smlsave my ds has very few 'boys' toys but he loves nothing better than playing with my little ponies, babies, doll etc. I think my dad in particular thinks this is wrong but we don't give two hoots. Toys are toys. We've always tried to go gender neutral where we can.

Good luck with the decision about pre school. It's a tough one. Do you think work would let you do 9:30-2:30? That sounds like a good plan to me if it's possible. X

    Hi Crumpets :)

I'm just going to have to wait till the preschool offer us hours and see what they are. Nothing much I can do till then apart from sound out the Nan's opinions on picking up DS at 3. Not going back to work next year until Nov/Dec anyway :p so there's plenty of time.

I just like being organised as much as possible and I know that next year I'm likely to let everything slip while I concentrate of the LO's and surviving the day.

£1.30 TT to savings yesterday and 10p to the change pot today :) every little helps.

Also got a few freebies from a Bounty pack today - a dishwasher tablet, preg vits, sudacream pot, dettol wipes, small bath towel and fairy tablets - not bad eh? :D

Had myself a mini-rant on the MS Mum's thread about Dettol selling their products by scaring people about needing to be anti-bacterial. have a look : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4819578

I just had a look at your rant smlsave:D I totally agree with you, you'd send yourself mad trying to be bacteria free with little ones. I was watching OCD cleaners last night and the one woman said she started being obsessive after having a baby when people try and frighten you into buying certain products:mad: gets me mad too :rotfl:

:rotfl: I only ever clean with bicarb, vinegar and lemon. No amount of scare mongering will change that even when baby gets here. I'm not going to pollute my babies lungs and immune system with their nasty chemicals.

Hi smlsave, I'm with you on the anti bac stuff. What's the point as as soon as you go out there are germs everywhere.Mine used to love picking up grubby old toys from the dusty church hall floor and sucking on them and toddler group :rotfl:

Glad to hear I'm not the only one anti-anti-bac scare mongering :)
Although I did quail a bit when a dirty spoon was being passed from teddy to little girl to DS to me but a wipe with my cardigan made me feel better :D

Almost got 15p to the change pot this morning but DS saw me and wanted "pennies" so I hoping to wrest them off him before bed. (apparently they were passengers in his car)

DH worked really hard on the nursery this weekend and was put out how little he'd actually managed to achieve - he had a big list in his head of what he wanted done. I think its looks so much tidier :) The whole room had been gutted and now its plastered with a new painted ceiling and coving has been put up. I made pancakes and bacon for Sunday breakfast and have been told to disappear next Saturday so that he can do some more work - off to Mum's for a bath me thinks!

Got a letter from EDF yesterday saying that my account should be up and running shortly. It should work out £10 a month cheaper which will help the budget next year :)

Soup and dumplings for tea tonight.
