You are welcome to decipher this link:

    http://assets.dft.gov.uk/publications/drivers-hours-passenger-vehicles/report.pdf

Here in the UK the basic maximum for driving a coach any period of 24 hours is 10 for someone doing the job "professionally" on a daily basis.

We got here via a discussion of unions protecting their members traditional privileges and restricting new entrants to the "profession".

Comparing a coach driver, a tube driver and the driver of a plane, might throw some light on the effectiveness of a powerful union. It sort of reminds me of Barbara Castle trying to take on the "Doctors" in the NHS. [They were self employed when it came to doing private work on the side but pensionable employees when working in NHS hospitals and a law unto themselves].

Whether it was formally his campaign slogan I agree is debateable but he certainly did not dissociate himself from it.

Thankfully we live in more enlightened times now. The only racist MP I can think of in recent years is Dianne Abbot.

    Evidence? clearly not

Asking me a question then answering it yourself before I even have a chance to? That's pretty dumb.

How about her tweeting "White people love playing "divide & rule" We should not play their game "

How about her calling Cameron & Clegg "two posh white boys"?

You know full well that if any white MP referred to two black MPs as, for example, "two poor black boys". Or tweeted anything whatsoever about the games "black people like to play" & how white people shouldn't be taken in by it - they'd be INSTANTLY out of a job.

Ross Perot got into terrible trouble for calling a black man, "Boy" during the 1992 Presidential election.

The funeral was interesting. I thought the applause was odd, was it to drown out the protestors?

Some said it was to mask clapping but most of the press saw only spontaneous clapping in adoration. This was probably closest to the truth.

Paxman had a more bizzare theory

Just going to ignore the fact Dianne Abbot is a racist now that I've given you the evidence you wanted then? Admirable.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty replied in a scornful tone, "it means.........

The Socialist Worker style guide and Humpty Dumpty can redefine the word "racist" as much as they like.

I will stick with something more mainstream, such as

    What complete rubbish.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
