I will have to invite you as the main act for our company christmas party.
Ethel in accounts and Doris in reception will be thrilled:rotfl: that you will be able to work your "magic" on them and help them revive the old days. They have had a bit of a drought in recent years;)0 -
Im not sure how this is now rellevant to the OP though I guess she has the opinion now that christening is a waste of time and the money would be better spent on junior. If he ends up a committed christian he can pay for his own service and partyWho I am is not important. What I do is.0

If anyone reading is still interested in christenings...
I was brought up a baptist, and never was. Unhallowed ground for me!
When I have kids I won't want them to be christened as it would seem hypocritical, and also not in line with the faith I was taught... which I have rejected anyway.
Will have to see how much pressure OH's family put on!
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
it always seems to be the inlaws that pressurise a couple of family to be religious
I had this with my first marriage. I met him when I was 17 and got pregnant at 20, we were engaged but not married. I lived in a small bedsit as it was all I could afford back then, and his family told him that if he moved in with me before we were married they would disown him. My baby was born in the April and I told him if he didnt move in I'd never let him move him. They virtually forced us to get married in the September and I left him shortly afterwards as I realised it was not what I wanted, it was what everyone else told me was right for me.

My current mother in law is not remotely religious although I have wondered if she was sent from heaven once or twice....
But my first husbands mother, despite having a heart of gold was dreadful - she FORCED her own kids to go to church weekly until they were well into their twenties, - personally I think forcing someone into relgious worship is the worst thing that can be done because like anything if its rammed down your throat you back off and don't want to knowI am a Mortgage Adviser
