  • Money is terribly tight around here this week, hoping that OH gets his expenses paid tomorrow! It'll be a low spend week for me.

I'm going home in 3 weeks time and need to pick up some small presents to give to people. I've got mum, dad, 2 bros and 2 sis, MIL, DIL, OH's 2 sisters, bro in law and 5 nieces and nephews and something for my 3 friends!

I'm planning on doing a major charity shop spree when I get home! And also a run to primarni for some little bits like socks etc. Gonna stock up as me and my OH have decided not to go home until next summer after our trip.

  • OH got some of his expenses paid at work today, grrrr for poor management in his company!

On MSE news, the car broke down! The timing belt went on it! So annoyed cos we need to get to the shops and all that jazz! Luckily, its a company car so we are hoping that his work will sort it out fast enough, until then it looks like I will be kept around the house until tuesday when I'm heading out with a friend!

I have decided in my wisdom to try and be more crafty. I managed to find a video to learn how to transfer onto candles, which will come in dead handy for our wedding! I'm trying to figure out ways of cutting down and with this method, it saves me loads and loads on unity candles and hopefully I can personalise a few more candles to decorate our reception.

  • So last few days have been very LSD, thank god! I was in town yesterday with a friend and got a new top from H&M for €2! Not bad going! ;)

Also got pressies for my sisters and one niece which is four presents down, and only a hundred left to go before we go home!
Less than 2 weeks now and I'm excited to be going home. Very little will probably be saved when I'm at home but its nice to have a chance to go back and enjoy myself!

On the flip side, OH isn't getting paid until next week, grrr! I hate how his work messes around when he is going to get paid!

We have also figured out that it is 22 paydays (months) till we get married :O So I am on the lookout online for bargains! I've my eyes set on a pair of shoes on flebay, hoping to get a high pair and a low pair for dancing in! On our spreadsheet we have budgeted €150 for my shoes but I know I can get them cheaper ;) I don't mind having 2nd hand shoes for the big day, many other people might but not me!
I'm keeping a close eye on the dresses that are on sale in our local wedding shop, they do a very good selection for under €1000. The budget is €2000 which is mental but I know I can find a bargain! :)

  • Hello all and happy halloween! :D

Feeling good, up early, gym done and showered... Only thing to do now is clean the bathroom and do the floors in the apartment! LOL

Had a lsd yesterday as well, OH took me out for dinner though so that was nice!

Someone bidded on the shoes I'm looking at online.. I have my eye on ebay to see if it goes up much more!

Other than that, no other debt busting to be aware of, next week I should be knocking €300 if I can off my debt so that will be nice! :)

  • So my OH got paid and its all in the bank, around €2,500 depending on the exchange rate..

Out of this we are paying €500 to our hotel and OH owes me €300 for my braces (he borrowed some off me this month)..Planning on giving a wedding gift of €200 to our friends that are getting married and are doing it on a very tight budget... This leaves us with €750 each to do what we want and I'd love to spend most of mine on clearing my debt!

I plan on hitting a few charity shops when I'm at home and hitting asda to buy some jeggings and undies! Can't wait to go home in 11 days time and see everyone, haven't been home since I got engaged so it should be great craic!

On the wedding planning, I've been watching some shoes on ebay, I really wanted the irregular choice ones but want to save some pennies. Currently the ones that are bidding are around €20 which I could get a new pair instead in debenhams or elsewhere... Decisions! LOL

Other than that, me and my OH have agreed to cut some people off the guest list, we thought that we would see who comes to our engagement party and then decide! I'm looking at teaching jobs for when we come back so fingers crossed! :)

  • So still waiting for our funds to transfer over into our account.. Grr..

But hello from the sunny middle east. I never considered how good sunny weather was for your disposition!

So, hoping to go to the gym today, bed clothes are already in the wash and will be tumble dried.. my eye is on ebay for a pair of wedding shoes and I've had my brekkie out of stores... Lunch and dinner shall be the same..

So I went out last night and spent around €20 at a table quiz that included entry and drinks. Didn't get any prizes however our friend was really nice, he's going home in two weeks time and won a meal for 2 in a raffle.. And he gave it to me and my OH.. So thoughtful! So thats in the backburner for when we return in December. Thinking it will be our first weekend back here as we will have to wait for OH wages..

NSD today for myself, not planning on heading anywhere.. Might go for some coffee in town tomoro and see if I can find some presents for my two brothers, mum, stepdad and two male besties... Got all the ladies pressies at a reasonable price..

  • So, there is €2430 in our bank account at the moment! Unsure of what to tackle first I suppose, but I'm thinking bill A is probably for the best. That will leave me with bill B and littlewoods and my CC.

Getting rid of the two bills is paramount first. I'm thinking of asking my OH to divide the money into his money, my money and our wedding fund. I can then pay as much debt off as I like from my account, without taking away the fun of being able to go home and enjoy himself!

Had a nice lunch out with a friend today, spent around €9. Definitely worth it though as it has been something for me to look forward to when my OH is at work.

Wednesday night is steak night out and I have money for that and for my lunch out on Friday.. Just need to work out what money OH has as he got paid his expenses as he will have to give me some if we are heading out after lunch on friday. I have €60 in my purse that I am going to try and keep there for when we go home towards my braces.. Just need to figure out where to get the other €40 from and it will cover the shortfall in my bank account!

Otherwise, its a quiet debt free week. I'm hoping out of the €700 I get this month that I can spend the majority of it on debts... :)

  • So planning a quiet day until later on. Heading to the gym at around 4ish and then shower and wait til OH gets home so we can head out and meet everyone for steak night!

I know I'm not being terribly MSE but there is definitely something about having money and not knowing what to spend it on! I've always been bad with money so I am hoping when this debt is cleared in January (Giving myself 3 months, its more than doable), that I can start saving with earnest..

I think myself and my OH want to have the wedding saved for/paid off in a year. Well I would love to anyways as I want us to start saving for a house deposit before we get married, that way, any presents/cash can go towards our house deposit! I've always wanted a stand alone house, in the countryside, enough room for my very own polytunnel and room for kids to play in. My OH is in construction so he wants a passif house, which means it takes minimal energy to heat and keep the house.. Dreaming is believing I think :P

Enough waffle from me.. MSE for today :

Money still in the bank and shall not be touched until the 15th of November
B/L out of stores, with Dinner a treat out!
Crocheting a granny square blanket for our couch for when the air conditioning makes it too hot
Not going to any shops today! There is enough food in the house to last us!
Research jeans online, see where has the best value as I will undoubtable be really cold when I come back home :)
    Swagbuck to first target! :D

Enjoy steak night! Sounds fun :)

  • Hi Headabove, welcome back! :hello:

So this week we are heading home on Thursday which means that I'm not spending a penny until we go home! :D

OH has taken money out of his account but hasn't transfered my half over yet, must get him to do it this week...

Then balances paid off littlewoods and cc and then whatever is left onto my bills! Can't wait to see the pile of letters that will be waiting for me at home, and I have to check my CC balance  Here's hoping they look better than I hope :)

Started to pack bags this morning.. I think I have everything organised for myself nearly but I have to get bits of OH bags sorted out or he'd forget all the important things! :rotfl:

Trying to get on with debt busting out here is hard, especially as my problems stem from at home but I think going back now will give me a sense of purpose.. I'm aiming to have as much gone before 2013 ends! So I need to start getting at it! lol
