I received a letter 3 days ago from T-Mobile dated April 2003 stating from the 9th May 2013 my price plan will increase by RPI percentage which it states is currently at 3.3%.
If the RPI is currently at 3.2% and has been since the 19th March -then wouldnt the T&C come into play.
I would imagine they would argue it was only 2 weeks ago. How long do you think it takes to send letters to hundreds of thousands of customers?0 -

But the RPI gets updated once per month, so can either change or stay the same. They sent the letter out after the RPI had changed. If they didnt want there to be any issues, then why not play it safe and increase it by 3.1% - or send the letters out earlier.0 -

I would agree, and I certainly intend sending a cancellation letter in.
Whichever way they try it, the previous months APR is 3.2%, the "RPI (also calculated as a percentage) for the 12 months before the month in which we send you notice of the increase" is actually 3.1%.
Either way, T-Mobile have slipped up, their greed for the extra 0.1% has opened up the cancellation clause.====0 -

Struggled to find an email address, apparently its all done via facebook PM now! Sent the letter via that and will also send one via snail mail.
Just curious, where did you get the 3.1% from?
The month before I received the notification was March in which the RPI wont be released until the 16th April. So the latest released RPI was for February which is 3.2% and was released on the 19th March.

I used the same link, and did it per T-Mobile's instructions, took the last 12 months of RPI and then divided by 12 to get the "RPI (also calculated as a percentage) for the 12 months before".
Whichever way they which to use or calculate it, they have got their sums wrong.====0 -

Did you just use the @ee.co.uk addresses for the board members? Or did you find something different?====0 -
CS refused to cancel quoting its irrelevant that the RPI is now lower!0

Couldnt find any email addresses, the only way to contact online was via their facebook page, so I sent them a PM. Had a reply back this morning saying they are unable to deal with the matter and I need to contact customer services.
Will post the letter instead. Cant see the point in phoning as CS wont be able to do anything.0 -
So - how many of you are intending to cancel their accounts and take out new accounts with another company - only to discover that, a couple of months down the line - they too are increasing their prices too ?
Not many - I bet !!0 -

As long as they increase their prices within the terms and conditions I have signed, then I have no issues.0
