I'm struggling to understand why you think you deserve more than the minimum.

You've just sent some kitkats back, which as Dukesy pointed out may not even have had plastic in. You haven't choked on a big lump of it prior to a recall being announced. They may not have had anything wrong with them.

They've already done you a favour by warning you not to eat it. You've sent them back (you could have just chucked them in the bin!). They've said "Cheers for not being daft enough to eat these or give them to someone else - here, have a voucher for a few more safe ones". More than sufficient.

LOL, you almost make it sound, like the OP should have sent them a thank you letter and some vouchers.

I'm not a one for this compensation culture, but it's about customer service and to me KitKat (Nestle), have shown the minimum effort with it.

Yes they won't care if they lose a few customers, yes it covers the costs, but I think they have been very stingy.

They recalled them so obviously they expected people not to eat them but to send them back it isn't rocket chemistry is it?

No, they recalled them to protect their backsides legally. When companies issue a recall because plastic has been found in a small proportion of their product, they really don't expect everyone to send them back as, frankly, it's only a very small proportion that will be affected and most people will not bother, and will instead just eat with caution. It just prevents them being sued if anyone suffers as a result of eating an affected KitKat.

Perhaps I have a bit, but my point is where does the cycle of goodwill end?

I'm not saying they've been generous at all, but they have been sufficient. I think the suggested amount of £10 by wellused is a bit ridiculous. If I had encountered some plastic while eating one, I would probably want more than £2, but nothing so dramatic has happened here. The OP has just posted some unopened Kit Kats back and subsequently received compensation sufficient enough to replace them. I don't see a case for recieving more.

I agree £10 is too much, but I would have thought enough to get 3 or 4 multipacks would have been suitable.

Perhaps they have had more sent back than they expected, so have got extra tight lol. Seems strange they wanted the bars sent back, rather than just the wrappers and/or batch number etc..

Kit-Kat would have liked me as a customer, because, I personally would have eaten them or just chucked them, because I wouldn't have been bothered with sending them off etc.

I would'nt have wasted my time and energy in posting them back either, far more important things to do.

Not very generous, they could have sent some vouchers for free chocolate bars as well.

You think choosing to return 2 bars and getting vouchers 3 or 4 multipacks is a fair exchange?! Blimey!

I wouldn't have sent them back either. Might've binned them. Might've stuck them on the staff room table :D

I had to check twice that this really is a consumer’s forum it seems like the consumer is evidently wrong in this case. Sending two Kit Kats back was no hardship to me and apart from the embarrassment of producing shoddy goods by the manufacturer it was a chance for them to show how good they really are, sadly they failed in my eyes but then again maybe their past experience of customers is reflected by the majority of easily satisfied consumers on this forum.Obviously I expected more than the minimum response but as they passed up the opportunity to go that little bit further then I guess that will have to do.

Never knew there was a recall, so would have eaten them. Probably would have eaten them even if did know though.

I have to be honest it seemed to me that they didn't actually want anyone to send the bars back and expected the consumer to do just that.
