Losing a stone in 2 weeks is a big ask. I'm surprised a Doctor suggested such a huge amount in such a short time:eek: as it is dangerous to lose weight too quickly and the only way to shift that amount in such a short time is by practically starving himself. No more than 3 pounds a week is the recommended safe level to lose weight normally.

Best way really is to cut out sugar and fats and eat grilled and steamed food with plenty of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water. Chicken is good (not fried and always with the lovely crispy skin removed) as is fish, again not battered, coated, fried or in sauce. Sauces are totally out, such as a chicken curry etc. People recommend cutting carbs but he'll be screaming with hunger unless he has something to fill him up a bit. The odd slice of brown bread (no butter or spread) should be OK and a small amount of brown rice or pasta (with no sauces) won't kill him but he certainly won't manage to lose a full stone in that short time.

Maybe the Doc could tell him what miracle diet he recommends to lose this amount of weight so quickly;)

    Hi CBC

I personally think that the doctor didn't tell OH to lose this amount of weight. I think that Oh has set this amount himself. He tends to go overboard a bit.

All he has eaten all day (if he hasn't snuck in something else) is 2 eggs, some chicken that I cooked last night, a low fat yoghurt and a pack of steamed veg. He's going straight from eating rubbish all day long to not eating enough to even keep me going.

I'm going to have words with him I think.

It's very possible to lose that weight. Google British heart foundation diet which suggests you can lose 10lbs in 3 days (I've managed 9) and eating clean. That mean only natural ingredients, see The Harcombe diet. They have a 5 day Phase 1 which consists of eating clean and I lost 11lbs! There is no limit to the amount of food you can eat and no counting calories, just as long as the food is natural and unprocessed.

Thank you for this Nat :A.

I have heard of this and have just had a quick look. It looks promising definitely. I'm going to talk to OH about it tonight.

Or your OH could look on the SW website & there is a sample 7 day menu.Your OH could loose a fair bit with that in a week.(SW is Slimming World).

    Hey up lovely,

I would look on Amazon under the Kindle section - you can download the software to your pc and there are lots of books for free about dieting and fitness I must have about 20!

They have recipe books and all sorts. I am sure I saw the hardcombe diet for men on there for free.

    Thanks Lou and Buffy :A

I had a chat with OH about the whole diet thing last night. He admitted that he was starving when I picked him up from the station and that he needed to eat more. I think if he just eats more healthy than he has been, he will lose weight. Not a stone in 2 weeks, but I think as long as the doctor can see that he's going in the right direction, they will be happy.

So last night I cooked him some pork and vegetables. We then went shopping and got him some low fat yoghurts and bread. I did him egg on toast for breakfast this morning and he has got chicken sandwiches and a yoghurt for lunch. I did have to wrestle a packet of crisps out of his hand last night though. The problem is that we aren't ideally matched at all. He needs to eat healthily and I need to eat loads of rubbish to just maintain my current weight. Temptation is always in the cupboard.

Change of plan for June. Mystery shopping is out, questions are in. I'm not thrilled about it, but they have just announced a permanent higher pay rate for June and the bonus for answering 3,000 questions or more.

This means that just by doing 100 questions a day in June, I will earn £1,350. That is just so much money to me and I would never be able to earn that from mystery shopping in one month. It has to be done.

I need you all to hold me accountable please. Badger me until I have done the 100 each day! I know I can do it, it's just a matter of getting on with it and getting it done.

I'm going to do 100 today and tomorrow too, after all an extra £80 isn't to be sniffed at.

Welcome one and all to my new diary :)

I am fast approaching my 32nd birthday (25th April), so thought what better time to start a new diary. A bit about me, I live down south in Hampshire, I'm self-employed (work from home) and live with my OH who I've been with for 12 years (he drives me nuts most of the time and his parents are a nightmare - you will often hear me moaning about them!!). I also have Cystic Fibrosis (not very pleasant, but I've had it since birth, so I don't know any different. There are people out there who have it worse than me).

Because of my illness, I can't have kids, but I do have a beautiful niece and nephew who I will often talk about. I spend a lot of time with them and love being their auntie.

My two great loves are tennis (massive Andy Murray supporter) and movies (particularly superhero movies).

So that's me in a nutshell. I'm going to list my hopes and plans for my 33rd year in the next post.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you subscribe to see how I get on over the next year.

    Hi Hollie Rose :)

Do you mean my OH? I don't think he ever has. I think we'll see how the diet goes before going down that road though.

I think if I started taking diet pills, my hospital team would have me in faster than you can say overnight feeds! ;)

I've finished my questions for today. OH reckons I should take a break tomorrow in readiness for a full-on June. I tend to agree.

I forgot to mention that on Friday last week, my smallest debt was paid off :j. It was only around £140, but it's gone :).

From August (when I am all settled in my new flat), I'm going to start debt busting again. I'll have a new budget and will be able to start making some good payments towards my debts.
