    Hi Muser

Pretty much yeah. I do some other stuff inbetween but am self-employed and just do what I can. It's better for my health.

    Morning :)

Doing pretty well already today, considering I've spent over an hour catching up on BGT from last night (always better to record it so you can FF all the boring bits ;)).

I dropped off the books and quite a few clothes into some charity bins at the end of our street when I came back from taking OH to the station. We now only have 1 box of stuff left from the carboot to sort out. OH has agreed to send the DVDs and CDs off to Music Magpie, but that's a job for tomorrow's list.

I've also earned 99 Nectar points whilst doing my nebuliser (great multi-tasker me). Going to head out at 10am to get my MS jobs done.

I've got another one lined up for tomorrow. It's the great toy shop one again, so I get £9 to spend on something and get £16 for doing it. I'll make a start on my nephew's birthday gift (not until August).

Hope everyone has a good day :) (even though the weather has turned rubbish again :p).

Most of my list is finished. I'll get the other 3 done tonight. I feel that I've had a very productive day :). I'm going to compile tomorrow's list now - strike whilst the iron is hot and all that:
    1. Morning meds
    2. Evening meds
    3. Complete MS job
    4. Pack up and arrange collection of Music Magpie stuff
    5. Pack another box
    6. 10 questions
    7. Nectar Adpoints
    8. Call the insurance company to see if my claim is sorted yet
    9. Check out the list that lovely Buffy sent me
    10. Relist stuff on Gumtree
I'm leaving a gap in my list in case anything else comes up.

OH has just come back from the doctor and needs to lose a stone in 2 weeks or they will put him on medication (high blood pressure because of his weight). I have absolutely no idea what people on diets should be eating. Can anyone help? I've been on a high fat, high calorie diet all my life so I don't know where to start.

I know that chicken is a good thing for him to have and obviously he needs to cut out the rubbish (fizzy drinks, chocolate etc etc). That's the extent of my diet knowledge :o.

Been a bit of a wash-out today. All I've really done is my mystery shop :(. Must be more productive tomorrow.

  • Losing a stone in 2 weeks is a big ask. I'm surprised a Doctor suggested such a huge amount in such a short time:eek: as it is dangerous to lose weight too quickly and the only way to shift that amount in such a short time is by practically starving himself. No more than 3 pounds a week is the recommended safe level to lose weight normally.

Best way really is to cut out sugar and fats and eat grilled and steamed food with plenty of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water. Chicken is good (not fried and always with the lovely crispy skin removed) as is fish, again not battered, coated, fried or in sauce. Sauces are totally out, such as a chicken curry etc. People recommend cutting carbs but he'll be screaming with hunger unless he has something to fill him up a bit. The odd slice of brown bread (no butter or spread) should be OK and a small amount of brown rice or pasta (with no sauces) won't kill him but he certainly won't manage to lose a full stone in that short time.

Maybe the Doc could tell him what miracle diet he recommends to lose this amount of weight so quickly;)

It's very possible to lose that weight. Google British heart foundation diet which suggests you can lose 10lbs in 3 days (I've managed 9) and eating clean. That mean only natural ingredients, see The Harcombe diet. They have a 5 day Phase 1 which consists of eating clean and I lost 11lbs! There is no limit to the amount of food you can eat and no counting calories, just as long as the food is natural and unprocessed.
