Ah so the thread was to have a go at Luckyone.

Wouldn't a pm have been a more polite way to share your concerns?

Why are you having a go at me? THis thread was started to say exactly what I stated in the original post I don't mean Luckyone is looking for an argument by posting please don't bump I mean in this thread.

Also if I wanted to just have a go at luckyone I would have just come out and said it but it is not just luckyone who polices the first page of the main board.

Hi,is it OK if I link back to this. & this

The use of the phrase "who polices the first page" puzzles me.

Would you care to elaborate for clarity.

There is an old saying regarding flinging mud and getting dirty.

And I have no idea what you are trying to say in this post.
Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.
    (Wisdom, Courage, Self-control, Justice)

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change

I may well have done this myself in the past, and the reason being because a) adding the T&C's is an after thought b) not everyone wants to wade through 27 lines of dull T&C's in the first post so I add minimum info in the first post and the T&C's as an additional post.

Yup, I've done it too, and for the same reasons, but you can see what I'm getting at.
A posters actions could be interpreted one way or another.

I can only give you my interpretation of it but by policing I refer to the certain members that feel it is their place to tell someone off for doing something that THEY feel is wrong. Often what they are doing is hypocritical as they are often doing it by telling the person not to an example of this would be bumping a thread to say please don't bump etc.

Hope that helps give you my interpretation

Not to me unless further information had been obtained - there is no reason to be pointing out what was already in the original post it's up to people to read and decide themselves if they wish to enter a competition.

(I have an expectation that fur should be real unless it says otherwise so a bump to say it is faux and not real fur might have been ok)

I think this gets to the real problem in what's a bump and what's not. In this case your expectation is that the fur would be real, others would have the expectation that nowadays it would be fake unless stated otherwise.

Actually it's just brought it round full circle, but has answered my question so all for the good.

Edit: just to add I've also finally learnt to quote someone else's post (this makes me happy!)

Further edit: I've also just thought I should have really posted this in the other thread about the fur comp - I've been reading both thread and they kept crossing over and I'm easily confused.

Gosh, i'm soooo slow... took me a while to get this ;)

If i post a comp and the terms and conditions are really long, then i'll post it in a second post as it just makes the original first post look cluttered.

I'll also "bump" a thread if the terms and conditions haven't been posted for a big win e.g a holiday (that's if someone hasn't got there before me.)

I won a holiday last year and they changed what was included in the prize. The company i was dealing with were kind enough to send me the terms and conditions of the win when i won the prize, so i could easily refer to them, but i know not all operate like this.

I don't think people should take being called "*insert name* police" too much to heart; i've lent my duties to several different police forces in the past :rotfl:

Also just to clarify I am referring to the word polices as in the meaning in the dictionary not name calling just using it as a description however I can see people aren't liking being called the comping police and may too be offended by my dumb choice of word but i confirm not name calling just describing.
