Hi guys some photos for you as I know you all love them :)

Czar framed, this is not his permanent frame I hate the extra inch either side, i'll get a custom made one when I order BD's. Its a 3 aperture frame which i'll turn into something else later.

And finally I completed my part of Brednall's AOY, i'm sending it back to her to finish it off :)

I don't normally like AOY designs but this is lovely.

My son loves iron man but hes too young......Was it any good? Most times the follow on films arent that great

my youngest is 2, oldest is 4, so they don't really watch the films but as oldest is superhero obsessed (thanks to lego batman 2 game) smallest has cottoned on.
The museum was farr to old for them and the heros did nothing but walk around for photo opps. The museum is free entry and they have a soft play/ castle theme play/ craft area for 0-10yr olds that is £2.50 each and they can play as long as they like or go and come back.
it was defo worth the day out for the looks on their faces.

winnepooh ironman3 was good and we all enjoyed it but its a follow on and has lots thrown at in by way of CG and a very fanciful storyline with huge explosions, our youngest is 13 there were a couple of about 8yo's in there but i thought some of the content was much too old and scary for them - its a 12A

nmm, czar is stunning so is your lion piece and the lovely aoy stitch you completed for Brednall.

was a bit naughty and added to my stash at the carboot this morning bought a lovely kit of a leopard in a tree for £3!! it was unopened and still had the £14 label on it, also bought some coaster to put stitching in some packs of card bobbins for silks and a pack of card/mounts and envelopes. got the lot for £5. it would have been rude to leave it there.

It's so lovely outside, perfect stitching weather; yet I'm stuck inside revising medical and family law - 14 days to go then I can stitch until the cows come home!

it was gorgeous and boiling this morning. took the kids out for a 2 hour walk (should have been about an 45 mins but we got lost and DS2 wanted to walk most of it) :rotfl:

got home, sat in the garden for a nicpic and the sun vanished and it went really cold so we all came in. it's only now looking as if the sun is returning.

    good luck with the exam.

This is a lovely design and for me Christmas starts once I see the Coca Cola adverts :D. I have seen a couple of these charts for sale on fleabay, is that where you got yours from?

Yep, the charts are around £5, but the kit was £20 and in my opinion well worth it as there is lots of thread...xx

I've learnt about parking in the process of doing my HAED (36 pages of pattern!!!)

What I do is finish a patch of a single colour ( I tend to work in blocks of 10x 10 or 10 x 20 at a time, depending on the pattern).

Then, as I am working from l to r on the pattern, I look for the nearest stitch in that same colour in the next block across.

Bring the thread up in the left hand bottom corner of that stitch (if you start from a different corner of the cross stitch, bring it up in the corner you would start from) and unthread the needle. Your thread is now parked.

Hopefully you can see (this is what I didn't get to start with) that it doesn't matter what colour your parked thread is....when you pick it up again, you'll know what colour it is by matching the square on the fabric with the pattern. As long as you always park it in the place on each cross that you start, you'll never get it confused - because no other stitch is going to start from that point.

    Hope that makes sense :rotfl:

Thank you for that easy to understand description. The Coke Lorry has a lot of stitching that parking would be handy for but I just couldn't get the hang of it...lol

We go to at least one boot sale a week and I have only ever seen one cross stitch item, and that was about 8 years ago. It was a Pooh bookmark and I bought it for around £3 !!
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

OH checked hay loft whilst cat eating, so first confirmed sighting of kittens. 2 gingers, 1 possible tortie. Too dark to see if others or take pic (next time taking torch). So relieved all ok :j

Not done any sewing in weeks, need to get mojo back

My latest stitch - I think I am just putting off other projects but needed to get my mojo back and the MP bookmark is at the complicated stage - oodles of blended then BS.
Now I need to crack on with something WTP for a friends baby before its born in August..... not got a clue what to do, maybe a few bibs or waste canvas on some sleepsuits.
I have no kids so not sure what a new mum would appreicate?

PS I give up with trying to get the photos to work apologies I'll get DH to explain what I am doing wrong sometime

well I managed about 28 stitches before I decided laying down on the sofa with the cat and my audible book appealed more...

i've just woken up and now have to rewind my audible book as I don't know where i got to.... suppose I can try again at the stitching part.....
