    LOTS Ruth_honey LOTS :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm very impressed as my 4 year old can tell who they are so I must be doing something right!!:D

SOOO glad the mystery magazine has been found............. and the mystery cat. :p

you did really well Sweetcarer- I always hate that in interviews - when you get marked down for not having done something but it's not part of your current job and the only way to get the experience is to do the job you've applied for (if that makes sense)
It's like dealing with Petty Cash is in my job description but my department does not have it's own petty cash so I instantly loose marks when they are doing initial comparisons.
the heart is perfect for the hospital.
I like the idea of using all the names, if it wasn't size restricted then (and it would take a lot of work) you could draw a heart (backstitch) then write the names inside in different backstitch fonts (perhaps at different angles)

grrrrrrr gonna have to go and ask hubby where my Michael Powell book is (shoulda come this morning, the other parcel it was in with arrived) but not talking to him cause he's p155ed me off. I already found my parcel of new cross stitch fabric on the floor under a pile of cushions. Highly recommend Heritage Crafts on ebay. ordered the aida at lunch time yesterday and it arrived today - can't beat service like that.

ETA: there's a few in the MP book I can see me using, good for the money. Lets hope Joan Elliott, Margaret Sherry etc follow suit and release their own versions.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I find any hand cream ok for me apart from highly perfumed ones - and they always work better if I put gloves on overnight.

Is really that amount of days till Christmas - eeeeek!

    Oh dear....

Whoooo hoooooo - will keep an eye out for you Flat Eric in my travels the charity shops.

    THANK YOU :j:T:D

Thank you all for your kind comments. I got my feedback today - I scored 22 out of 36 and the person who got the job only got 24 - so I was close. I lost marks as I had not done any audio typing recently and one of my answers was quite week regarding dealing with outside agencies to my work. Thinking about it I could done a better answer but I guess nerves go to me.

Reminds me of an interview I went to many years ago. Firstly I pulled a sickie from work so when my bus went past the entrance to my offices, I slunk down in my seat to hide.....

At the actual interview, they wanted me to do an audio typing test but I had never done audio typing before and couldn't even get the tape in the machine! I don't remember them being too impressed with me and surprise surprise I didn't get the job. The highlight of this story is that my work phoned me at home as they wanted me to be aware of some news that was about to break in the press and my dad kindly informed them that I was at work :rotfl: cue an awkward conversation with my boss when I got the message. It didn't matter much as not long after I left to pursue other interests but it always amuses me when I think about it. I've certainly not pulled any sickies since.

Just popping in to say I've not picked up any cross stitch since Easter. Have been knitting and machine sewing, so not completely idle.

Going to rome and Pompeii for a few days later today. What started as a cheap break has snowballed into a holiday but it will be worth it. Not sure whether to take any cross stitching with me as space is very limited, only checking one small case between the 3 of us.

Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to Soulie for Friday, it goes without saying that I hope your scan goes well and the treatment is working.
Hugs to all those that need them.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any time yesterday for stitching. Ive got a vervaco cushion to do. I opened the packet and there was a huge mound of wool mixed up so I spent the whole afternoon sorting it
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

    Hi ladies.

Flat Eric. Nice start on the MP Daisy.

Nmm. Nice work, I really like it. Hope your finger feels better soon.

Soulie. Good luck with the scan on Friday, wishing you all the best.

    Chicky. Nice Catwoman.
I too have started xmas shopping! :D Something my brother wanted last year but didn't get, I just found it for a quarter of the price it was last november so got it bought quick!

Ruth. Yay!! Well done for finding the elusive mag :T

Mrsmp. Tink is coming along nicely.

re dry hands and creams to use on them. I use MrT's own version of hand and body cream, I think it's called 'Soft and smooth', put it on my hands before bed everynight and in the morning they are lovely and soft.
I have found it's brilliant on cracked heels too. My heels cracked a few weeks ago and before trying the expensive cream made especially for the problem I thought I'd try the MrT stuff and it's worked wonders!
My Mum has (or should I say used to have) very dry hands and the skin often splits around her finger nails but has found Bodyshops Hemp hand cream to work very well for her.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

I've had similar good experiences with ordering from Heritage Crafts (though not recently of course as trying my best not to spend on non essentials)
