    And that's Catwoman done.

B_E_G think you may have solved my conundrum.... gonna do a 'word card picture' (from card shop mag) next.

My Auntie moves into her new house 2/5 so I should be able to get the house one done within a week of her moving in (there was a house one wasn't there?)

I'm not a cushion person but wouldn't this complement the wine words fantastically as the cushion back. (or a separate cushion)

right..............I need a cup of tea before bed.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Glad to be of service chicky :D

I like these free new home ones on Making Spot but they might be a bit more detailed than you want. Good luck in finding something suitable.

PS My hands are in such a state too. I probably dont put cream on as often as I should cos sticky hands and cross stitching don't go together. Tried it with the white gloves and that didn't work either - so I just save them for bed when I want to make a bit of a fashion statement :p:D

  • Morning stitchers. Have been following the comments re hands and creams. I suffer from a type of dermititis which is aggravated by chemicals. ( I like to,say I am allergic to house work). Anyway years ago on a xs forum based in the US I read about udder cream which is used by dairy farmers. It moisturises but isn't greasy. I eventually got some from a vet and it works well for me. I can sew straight afterwards. It is now available as a hand cream called udderly smooth http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=udderly+smooth+hand+cream&!!!!!googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=9029995145&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=496505&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2071367724841892880&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=t&ref=pd_sl_2tpavvkicw_b

Steroid creams such as eumovate should be used with caution as they thin the skin I have to use a steroid cream when I have an outbreak but only for 2 or 3 days or it make my hands worse:eek:

DH has skin problems linked to his diabetes and the best cream he has ever used is epaderm. And he's tried lots but what works for one person isn't right for another

Enjoy your me time doing what you enjoy
  • Do you know in the future these magazines may be helpful as when someone like FE is looking for a chart they will be able to type a bit (like "stocking fillers" into google and our posts will come up then the magazine will be easy to suss :)

Cross Stitch Card Shop - Issue 90 Mau/ June 2013

Summer with Somebunny - cover kit

it's cute - but somebunny is not my cup of stitching tea.

    chasing butterflies

cute but not sure i'd stitch it

    Dearest Dad

I do like the idea of the hot air balloons..... but not sure I'd use them.
Might tweak them in the future for thank you cards.

    Polka dot pastels

I reallllly like these. My friend has just developed a red polka dot obsession so might change one of the colours for her b'day card.

    Top Topiary

hmmm I can see why some would appeal.... but not for me.
    I like the lettering!!

    ship shape

I quite like some of these. again perhaps but perhaps not.

    You're invited

Some lovely simple but effective kids designs for Birthday cards.

    Time to relax.....

A bit too much detail for a card, but i like them.
The view from the balcony could make a nice framed picture present

    request a chart

Buzzard - not sure i'd use it but nice.
Coral - i can see why it would make a 35th anniversary (coral) card using it.
Ice Hookey - not sure i'd use it but it's a nice chart
Cocktail glasses - could come in handy

    garden buddies

tortoises this time - hmmmm they don't really take my fancy but if you have someone who likes tortoises then quite cute.

    summer beauties
    ermm - nah

    just for dad gift tags
nice and simple - will actually probably use a couple of the motifs for a card instead.

    next issue

birthday banners - i like these

graffiti greetings - i like the ps controller but thats the only one taking my fancy

    beautiful birdhouses
    hmmm..... nah

girly gift tags - could be useful

Zoo friends - these are cute

all our yesterdays cover kit - not really for me.

The creater of 'woodland folk' apparently has a cat series starting which could be lovely or could be terrible.

What a great thought that our reviews will be found and help other stitchers :)

There was a house words card in XS card shop though I would have to change a couple of the words as I hate American spellings

I really like the dearest dad cards and they could be used for birthdays as well my favourite is the football and beer mug

The polka dot pastels are different and I love stitching on coloured fabric Very quick to stitch as well :D and your idea of red polka dots is fab

    Like the topiary designs

Ship shape designs are very bright and colourful and would make nice little pictures for a boy's room

I can't imagine spending stitching time on party invitations which will end up in the bin!

The retirement cards should have included one for a stitcher :rotfl:

    Like the coral anniversary card

Small tag designs could be useful but again I wouldn't stitch tags

Sweetcarer, that yellow looks absolutely fine to me.

I forget who posted their back of their work but mine still sometimes looks like that :o

Anyways just a quick pop in, have a busy week this week, went to the doctors today to get more meds, having a blood transfusuion tomorrow, district nurse comes on Wednesday and I have my scan on Friday, which I am nervous about as it will tell if the chemo is working or not and whether they need to change my chemo or whatever *insert a nervous smilie here*.
    Sending positive thoughts for Friday

My stitching didn't used to be so neat Gildius as the following two pics will illustrate. This is a kit I bought in 1998 so when I first started stitching. I don't think it helped my cause that there is blending (where two different coloured strands of floss are used).

my favourite is my Garnier one - the one in my work bag. it was a test for a website and its fantastic (i'm just too lazy to go down and get it when i have 4 others in my room that need finishing. does anyone know if handcream deteriorates over time? some of the stash must be at least 4 years old.
