Do you know in the future these magazines may be helpful as when someone like FE is looking for a chart they will be able to type a bit (like "stocking fillers" into google and our posts will come up then the magazine will be easy to suss :).
I came across another site that has a database of charts and if you type in what you are looking for, it tells you the magazine and issue. http://www.cyberstitchers.com/patterns_directory/ it has over 40,000 patterns i'm sure most can be found unfortunately not FE's bookmark :(

i found that one but didn't have time to play - it looks fab.

simply Cross stitch was the magazine i thought it could have been as there were bookworms in the christmas issue in 1998 (but FE said it was 1999).

eeeek London underground is gonna be huge!!!! apparently 24 x 17.7 inches (approx 61x45cm) on 14ct aida or 18.6 x 13.8 inches (46x36 cm) on 18ct. think i may have to get 18ct (eeek never used anything smaller then 14 before)

and it doesn't say if that is allowing for a mounting excess (i think not)

  • Chicky what's the stitch count ? And how many inches do you want for mounting and framing each side? Let me know I have an aida calculator app I'll work it out for you if you want

    ta,

it says tis 335 stitches x 248 stitches. not really sure what i normally leave for framing, i tend to get whatever the closest aida is and make do :rotfl:
have found 18ct at 50x55cm which would be ok (I think) but its not a pretty one :( and a pretty one at 49x55cm (but in reality i'm guessing will be same size as the other one :rotfl:)

ohhhhh Maria I will be interested to see what sizes you come up with.

    I like this.

Now using this calculator it would be fine.

But EXACTLY the same figures in this calculatr say it'll be too small.

  • Ok my calculator has worked it out as below with a 2" boarder all the way around for framing

    14ct - 28 x 22"
    18ct - 23 x 18"

  • I make that in cms

    14ct - 71 x 56 cm
    18ct - 58 1/2 x 46cm
