You may remember me posting the above pic which *I think* came from an issue of Cross Stitch Gift Shop.
I don't remember how long Cross Stitch Gift Shop was in publication for(nor why they binned the mag
).
I've found in my stash Issues 2,4, 5 and I bought issue 3 online so I know the design isn't in these issues. If you happen to have any of the other old issues of this mag and can have a nose for me then I would be very grateful. This mag rarely pops up on e b a y and when it does, they are often pricey. so it is hard to eliminate .... especially as I can't be completely sure the design came from this mag. It has all the hallmarks however of being published by the same people as World of Cross Stitching and Cross Stitch Card Shop.
Thank you all very much :T
Thanks for the nudge to check. I've asked my mum to look at her stash and she said its definitely not issue 3 or 4 and probably not 5 either. I will dig my way to my stash tomorrow and see what I've got. If I don't return, send help...:rotfl: I'll either be buried under stash, or distracted by looking through magazines for days.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi ladies.
Chicky. Nice nightwing.
Maria. Lovely finish, really like it.
FOS. Order it, you know you want to
Sweetcarer. Sorry to hear you didn't get it but good on you for trying.
FE. I agree with Chicky, I'll be using what fabric I have spare which is most likely 14ct. I'd consider coloured fabric if I could get some fairly cheaply and as the designs are smallish that might not be too difficult.
Razz. Hi and welcome! With backstitching I go up and down at the angles but won't take my thread too far across the design, say 3-4 holes so sometimes a longish line of thread can be broken down into 2 or 3 smaller lines.....if that makes sense? Mostly though I make the backstitching look right to me, I follow the pattern but make it look right to my eyes.
If I don't like something on a design I'm not frightened to change it to suit me, I rarely follow a chart to the letter....or should that be symbol:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hello Girls
First off thank you all for your kind comments - I am still feeling a bit disappointed - feel I have let everyone down - especially hubby as it would take the pressure off him a little, with him not working. I called my boss (he was on leave but told me to call) but he wasn't in, so spoke to his wife (we went to school together - I know small world) and she said it was bad news for me but good news for her hubby as he won't be losing a good worker. I also have to take consolation I got through the sift and got an interview - which is more than most.
Onto to some nice things - cross stitch.
I have now competed my green heart for Sandy Hook - now onto yellow - will have to look through my stash for some bright yellows so they stand out.
I only have cross stitcher and cross stitch collection early issues and I don't think the design you are looking for is in them. Why not call some of the magazines and speak to the design editor she might remember what issue it is.
Oh well onto some chores and get out my stash and see what I have - kind wishes to all
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
you are really cracking on with those SC. Keep thinking I'd love to stitch it but can't think what for or why. they fit the Sandy Hook thing completly.
how cooool is this!!!! I am sooo tempted!!
some other fantastic ideas!! http://scraphacker.com/cross-stitch-diy/loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I'm planning to snooze in late tomorrow :j I've had a busy day - watched some of the half marathon then went to the shops - trying to nose out the bargains from the sales... (bugs me when there are big signs screaming 50% off but 90% off the stuff on the rail only has a few pounds off in reductions).
Managed to get some half price shoes yesterday, and today a pair of linen trousers for a fiver from d o r othy per kins, a half price jumper and a half price bra. :T plus treated myself to Cross Stitch Collection - love the country companions design.
ps I've started the daisy design from the michael powell book. loving stitching it. its coming along nicely :T:D0 -
Yes, try to see where the back stitch line goes over an aida hole and make that your next point to stitch to. If you ever saw me back stitching, you'd hear me muttering "across four, down two" and suchlike :rotfl:
me three ! I love doing the back stitch, very therapeutic although I undo and redo it in places until I'm happy with it.

ohhh FE are the linin trousers thick linin or "i can see what pants you're wearing" linin (can you tell I've made that mistake in the past)
I need some new work trousers and linin are soo comfy in the summer and look quite smart if you get the right ones.
can only find croped ones on their website but it's only 5min from work so could look at lunch on Tuesday.
