  • TMIF, so sorry to hear about your two pieces of bad news, what a horrid week you have had. I hope next week is better.

Could I ask a queston, those of you who have designed your own charts and use paper, is it normal grid paper? I am thinking about Christmas card's but unlike last year when I used single charts to make one card I want to design it completely from scratch, ie my own design... Or attempt too!

Also looks whats on my to do list now... I daren't order it or I would want to start it.

I'd use a little computer program 0 there are a few for free out there (KD Lite I think? I will google it later)

but graph paper is fun if you want to get your coloured pencils out :)

    Order it - and i will get dressmaker's daughter. G'wan x

I love the Mario. Is that a frame from the £1 shop? I have seen them there and think they are great but couldn't think what I could stitch for them....lol

Yep! It was the last one that they had in our store, and we were going to buy a 5"x7" frame anyway for the yoshie bit. DH saw that one and said 'hey, you can make two more little things of mario to go in these spots!' :rotfl:

  • Love the finished Mario designs

Have started on my 3rd Bella and boo, this one is coming together very quickly compared to the other 2 as it has very few half stiches. Still don't know what I'm going to do with them when there finished. They will probably just end up in the finished box.

Question time - do you ever just sew things because you like them or do you always sew with a purpose / reason?

it will be banished to my 'finished box' Maria - but am going to see if any of my friends want to give him a home 1st. Yes I thought it was lovely but I hated every minute of stitching it and have no other use for it.

<<hugs>> to TMIF. next week can only get better. xxx

Lol, I bid on that the other day after seeing it on a Facebook page, but can't pay that much yet and like you I have other things to finish up first...

I have been getting most of my frames from there and it has inspired me to do some designs for round my house as they are only £1...lol
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Lol, chicky I have a finished box, but I love them all much to give away, either that or I'm mean!

Many thanks TMIF, I have downloaded KG chart and had a play, many thanks. Now I am tempted with that chart but I think I will wait. Although my list isn't long I don't want too big projects on the go at once plus I would prob order the kit which is £22 :o

Maria, I used to stitch for gifts/presents but I have stoped that appart from immediate family and they end up hung in the house. I chosse my current design because I loved it and I thought it would be a great christmas addition... Although if Mum has her way it will be up all year around :p

There are a few sellers floating around selling it/a design of it. Al's charts are £5 so I don't mind paying £6 for one. However as said previously I may just purchase the kit as I am not sure if I have the skeins of red here. My list isn't long really, it only conatins the one I am working on and my christmas cards.. for now :rotfl:

Cross Stitch Crazy - June 2013.

I'm not even going to bother reviewing this..........mah mah blurgh eught and double mah.

about the only thing that caught my eye were the fruity ones "hap-pea" etc.

Think this is going straight on the sale pile.

Firstly hugs TMIF, life sucks sometimes :(

Question time - do you ever just sew things because you like them or do you always sew with a purpose / reason?

Maria - I tend to pick designs to stitch because there is something about them I like. I don't think I have ever stitched anything out of necessity. I do have a rather large UFO pile however! (usually because I get distracted and start something else !!)
