    Hi 1stTimer

I too am a gadget girl but since being :money: struggle to justify them. So I make bargains with myself, ie if i clear my CC and pay off my loan early then i can have an ipad mini guilt free :)

In relation to your car, personally i'd keep it as you'll still have a shortfall if you sell it and then if you buy another then the shortfall will get even bigger. Can you make overpayments to your car or increase the monthly payments?

    Hey there!

To be honest that's another dilemma, once this final card is paid off do I start saving for a deposit or do I overpay on the loan?

Have to speak to Barclays first to see if that's allowed but I'm sure they said I could, however it does delay the deposit for that much longer....

  • Hi 1st Timer & everyone else

Just skippng through your conversation & I can totally understand the 'toys' thing!

It is so lovely to find that other people are finding things tricky too - especially when you're so used to the buzz you get when buying new things. I'm trying desprately hard to wean myself off it & appreciate the things that I do have in my life that mean so much more when you look at the bigger picture

Keep up the hard work - it sounds like you've made great progress already

Thanks Kickuptheasstime (love the name by the way!)

I'm feeling quite optimistic today, went and purchased my lunches for the week yesterday and if i stick to just eating these i'll have spent £1 a day on my lunch :money:

Although it is a colleagues b-day on friday and historically that means a pub lunch to celebrate but even if i do 3 or 4 days thats still a dent compared to normally spending approx £3-£4 on lunch.

Got a ebay sell coming in too which is only another £20 but if i think about it the right way that equals a months lunches if i can stick to it..... thats shocking i do hope i can do this:o

I think come next pay day i'm going to try the envelope trick that i hear alot of people on here are doing, where you stick all your budgets in seperate envelopes and stick to it, i think that ones going to be a right eye opener!

Another fault of mine is lending money to people, i always feel sorry for people struggling and hate to see them living with out so i offer to loan them the money for the month, last month i lent £400 out!!! disgusting when i think about it, i do get it back but rather than loaning it out it could go straight towards the debt

Thats going to be something i really need to deal with......

Morning all and happy hump day!

So didn't spend yesterday and stuck to my £1 lunch so am really chuffed with myself!

I've just been looking at my loan agreement regarding early repayments and it says - you may make additional early repayments to your loan but you must notify us prior to doing so. For each partial early repayment made we will charge you a fee equal to 30 days interest on the amount being repaid. This fee will be taken from the additional early repayment you have made. This loan agreement will continue and if all remaining loan payments are made as due then the loan term may be reduced as a result of the partial early repayment.

Anyone want to dumb that down for me????? :o

    Gutted!

Been so good all day, didn't go out at lunch and took food with me so didn't spend anything, and now I've come home and gone and bought me a couple of beers to relax with.....

    So annoyed with myself

I couldn't sleep last night, beer always does that to me, it makes me think too much and I'm not good when I'm thinking especially during the night.

I have to go doctors today and I'm worried they are going to tell me something bad, I have continuing pain down my side and its really getting to me now.

I was also thinking about money (surprise surprise) and realised I have a holiday to pay for in June and car insurance too

The insurance I'm hoping my car fund will cover but I can't be certain until I get the renewal, so although all my money should ideally be going towards the last card, I'm going to start topping up the savings pot so I don't get caught short

New goal - save £2000 by June :eek::eek::eek:

........(Runs off to EBay to sell whatever isn't nailed down).....

Roll on payday.... you seem so far away!!

Another day of spending for me i'm afraid :o had to pay car parking at the doctors and then was late for work so didn't take my lunch, i ended up with fish and chips which i must say were really nice:)

I also had to withdraw some money today for weekend plans but hey ho we all have our blips right?

I think i may start leaving my card at home so then i have no choice

    xx

I think I'm going to start my no spend days from fresh on Monday :o

Haven't spent too much today but didn't spend nothing either, on a good note by Monday I should have collected all the money I'm owed and be able to make another payment so quite excited about that.

I have a bit of overtime on Sunday so that should keep me out of the shops etc and tomorrow I'm going to try and stay indoors and keep busy.

Just got to get through next week and then it's payday and I can see if the final card is going to paid off or not  (getting nervous now I really hope I can do it)

In a really happy mood today (I know it's only midday!:rotfl:)

This morning I have paid £250 into my account from bootfairs and money owed and then come home and stuck it straight on the credit card.

I've also just applied and been accepted for a 0% transfer to another card as the one I currently have is approx £20 interest a month - now I know I'm hoping to pay this off come payday so it may have been too late however it covers me if I don't quite manage it
I also got 12 months 0% on purchases so again covers me if I need it going forward.

I managed to get me sister a 0% transfer too so she's happy!

Now just to transfer the money from eBay sales and can pay that off too...:j:j:j

Geez I'm on a roll today
