Updated my signature with yesterdays asda shopping. Was refunded £1 as one of the offers hadn't gone through.
I bought some dried chickpeas for the first time, instead of tinned ones (cheaper) and am currently simmering them for an hour, before freezing-thanks everyone for the idea to do that0 -
I'd like to join in for June please.
Can I declare £360 for the month, from June 1st - 30th? This is for three of us, son is 13 and eats like a horse. But our finances are out of control and I need to reign it in and groceries seem a good place to start.

Hi, I am going to try £220 one last time befoe I admit defeat. Have tried coupon and Lidl so far this month to help me stock up and get ahead of the game. I can do this!!
Thanks for everyones help and advice as always.

Another £10.75 in Sainsbugs yesterday ( for a handful of stuff compared to my £80 in l1dl I must add!) - I've become unaccustomed to superstore shopping, got in a right tizzy because I couldn't find pesto for love nor money. Oh yes, opposite the yogurts, that's where I keep it at home, too! Grr. :rotfl:
So still under budget on my monthly top up aim of £100 and a renewed resolve to use my local shops.
Don't worry to those over budget last month - onwards and upwards from here, and sometimes the budgets just don't work when real life gets in the way. There's always little lessons to learn to shave a few more pence off next time. (Seriously tempted to try the dried chickpea route.)

Well my chest freezer has been delivered but on lifting the lid it smells bad, I discovered that it has about a 1/4 inch of water in the bottom. I didnt notice any smell yesterday probably because it was out in the open air. Anyway have given it a good clean with bicarb
and closed the lid. Will give it a couple of hours and then see how it is. Cant switch it on yet anyway as needs a couple of hours to settle.
Hope its going to be OK as have made 4 portions of spagetti Bol
and 4 of chilli, using a YS pack of mince bought for 50p. only worked out at 25p a meal.Slimming World at target0 -

Hello *waves*
Was pointed over here after a post on the Marriage and Families board about how we spent £817 over May in the supermarkets
I am reining it in this month and am going for a target of £440 for June, which roughly equates to an average weekly shop of £100 plus £10 for milk, bread and and any other top ups.
We've had an online shop this morning for the week and spent £94.69 which includes delivery of £6.
We're a family of 6, two adults and four kids under 10, packed lunches for two every week.0 -
Managed to get a £53.13 Mr T shop down to £33.73 today by deducting promotions, vouchers and something bought for someone else. So i'm chuffed with that.
Mr S coming later which will be slightly more but won't do another shop now til nearer the Mr T delivery saver running out on the 10th, which i will try and get near to £40 as possible.
I also want to take advantage of the weekend Felix offer in the C*-*p, as they are only £2.50 a box, so going to stock up on those too and three garlic bread for a £1 but they can wait a bit as they are on offer til 11 June.
Off to update sig and will be back later once i know Mr S total.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. If you look about there should be coupons available for free delivery. I know Mr S were doing it for a while on a £50 or over spend, and i think Waitrose are also doing it. HTH.
