Hi all, just popping in to set myself a budget of £200 for 2 adults and one toddler. Changing my method of shopping slightly as the friend who normally very kindly gives us a lift to L1dl is having another baby and won't be able to take us, so I'm switching to monthly shops and visits to the butcher/grocer in between. Going to keep a close eye on spending while we get used to the change!MFW start date:22.6.13 - £138555 9.7.13 - £125937

In case anyone is interested Groupon has a £5 for a £10 gift card offer. Only one purchase per person, but good to effectively get half price food.

Brilliant thanks - just ordered. Wed night is "date night" in our house which sometimes involves posh M+S tea if there are no groupons for local restaurants.. so this will be a super cheap one!!
Plus we are moving house a week on Mon - yeha! There is lots to do on the new house (although there is a brand new kitchen) but I find it's often tempting to just get takeaways during moves/construction ... hopefully if the freezer/fridge is full of tempting M+S goodies then we won't be so keen to ring a takeaway. In fact I am going to get Mr Sheep to get one too for double savings hurrah.
[edit - this deal is on at the minute at m+S

Way planning to do big shop tonight but DS has come out in chicken pox so that's put a spanner in the works. Might actually have to trust DH with a list so he can go do it ... no, not completely sold on that!!Christmas budget £266.38/£535 15/27gifts

morning all
I haven't participated in this challenge for a few months and find I am going over budget. This month has been ridiculous so its now tightening of the belt and head down.
Please add me for £350.
All the best to everyone and lets make it a good month.0 -
Just spent £80.04 in L1dl for my big 'monthly' spend. My aim was to spend £100 on monthly basics and £25 per week on fresh veg, milk, meat etc, so I've either come in way under budget (in which case GREAT!) or I've forgotten a fifth of the things I'm going to need! Need to pop to Sans Bugs this afternoon for a few of the more esoteric items - although I'm in the market for pine nuts and sesame seeds, so I might have a think about whether there's anywhere that sells them in bulk nearby where I might shave a few pennies off compared to getting those silly little supermarket packets.

May certainly flew by! I can't believe I came in under budget, as the fridge freezer broke, and we lost and replaced a fair few of fridge things. We saved most of the freezer contents at least!
I'll stick with £150 again for June, which starts today for me. I'm hoping to come in under again, as we have a weeks' holiday in Spain we'll need money for! :jSwagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

Afternoon all:hello:.
Well I haven`t dipped into the june budget yet as i`m starting this tomorrow. I know I said I should have enough until next week, but the kids are driving me bonkers and keep raiding the cupboards for more food:eek:. I`ll be glad when they go back to school on monday, but really dreading the summer hols for this reason. I did make some of the bean burgers from Jacks blog and I thought they were lovely, but think they need a bit more seasoning. Very cheap to make, but I think one of the kids could quite easily gobble these up in one go,(he`s got a bottomless belly).
I`ve actually written out a monthly planner, but it needs a little tweaking here and there and I might even be brave and do one big shop for June and add weekly top ups for the fresh items.
I managed to grab the last mirror yesterday and will use the A1di £5 coupon on monday.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41
