June 2013 Grocery Challenge

I went to Smithfield meat market for the very first time. Not too bad despite the early start. Bought 10 x 1.3kg chickens for £24.67, 10kg chicken legs for £15.00 and an assortment of red meat for £66.89. Chicken definitely much better priced and fresher than the supermarkets. Hopefully this should last us for two months.
Just need supermarket stuff so will try to pop into Lidl tomorrow to use the £5 of voucher.Aiming to be debt free as of Sept 2013
Loan amount owing £193.66/£774.64.

My challenges always run from the first day of the calendar month to the last, so day one is tomorrow.
Just scraped in under budget for May, so I'm sticking with the same budget for June - £195Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
OMG I actually feel sick - I have just totalled up Mays pathetic effort and am gutted to report an overspend of almost £150. I have absolutely no idea where the money went despite religiously saving all receipts and noting everything down in my book. I don't seem to have bought anything unusual or too decadent - and I didn't even need to buy dog food as the sack bought in April saw me through the month. I feel awful inside but am more than ready to start again tomorrow - can't do a proper shop until Tuesday when the kids are all back at school so at least I can delay the inevitable!
First purchases will be dog food and a large sack of potatoes as we are completely out (oh well that's £25 gone straight away!)

Spent £45 yesterday on groceries, including batteries, so am bang on what I'd like to spend all week.
Won't feel too bad if do run out of bits and bobs of fresh stuff towards end of week as stocked up on some cupboard items for whole of month so following weeks should be cheaper.
I spent £2 in the Co-op on 2 boxes of Bramley apple pies (2 for £1.50) which I thought could go okay with Walls ice cream in freezer for cheap and cheerful pudding, plus a bottle of own brand lemon squash, they don't tend to always give a receipt but can't help but feel may have been undercharged.
Spent £43 at Sainsbury's. Left it too late for YS meat, I think 7.30/8 is better, by the time I went at 9ish, there was just a packet of trout for £1.14, did my usual trick of picking it up then putting it down again!
Gave Aldi a miss, bought Basics rice, pasta, Yorkshire puddings, garlic bread, mint sauce, fruit juice, orange squash, these are cheaper/same price so I figure may as well save petrol and get points to save money in long run. No Tesco or Lidl by me, Asda a bit further away too.
Got £3.13 for a carrier bag of very old clothes yesterday but felt invisible force pulling me towards a cone of chips for £1.20. Pure class. Old habits die hard :)Paying in money from a table top sale today so go me.
As ever am waffling, good luck all and thank you for all inspiration, tips, support xx
[Bm155piggy[/B] good luck for this month, don't feel bad xxx0 -

Hello, haven't done this challenge for a good few months but am ready to get back on track! Have actually been quite good but do miss reading this thread
I will aim for £375 (will track in sig) as June is a 5 week month for me and I have already spent £122.31 as the cupboards were bare.
My main aim at the mo is to build up our emergency fund and so keeping on check with the groceries will help this.
Looking forward to being back
