June 2013 Grocery Challenge

Hello everyone, I'm in June for £180 for the 3 of us and our dog, all groceries including toiletries, pet food, cleaning materials and household items.
I went over in May by £26 but not too bothered about that, having come down randomly from £200 so I will think of it as a period of adjustment.
I'm going to take my inspiration from here and think of the weekly rather than monthly budget, I think this will help.
Have started as I mean to go on after returning home from short break today, eating lunch (Ryvita and spread cheese) for lunch and have taken out some hm veggie chilli from the freezer for tea.
My girls are home from school trip tomorrow and have meal planned until mid June. Will need fresh stuff til then and then main meal stuff. I'm planning to go to the supermarket late on tonight on the hunt for potential YS bargains.
On a side note, my mum bought a fresh chicken and carrots in a butcher y
the day before yesterday and paid £11, I was convinced it was a mistake but it was right - the chicken did two main meals for two of us and a couple of rolls. I'd love to support small independent shops but can't afford that!0 -
Main shop of the month has arrived and it came to £144.98 (Delivery driver commented that I had bought 1/2 the store
) Well stocked up now, so should only need to pop out for some fresh veg, fruit and perhaps some meat during the rest of the month. Can't go mad, as only have £43.42 left from my budget.
Need to find a home for everything now, so off to try and make order of my kitchen cupboards.

I went to Costco and Tesco today. I spent £85.69 in Costco and £43.35 in Tesco.
I have a decent store cupboard now due to second purse. I just need to buy meat, fruit and veg this month now. I've got £130.58 left so totally do able.0 -
May was about even despite a few investment fritters at the end - which means we are going into June with the freezer stocked up which is unusual for us atm.
Aiming for £300.
Planning a L visit tomorrow to use the £5 off a £30 spend. Need to do a list or I will spend £50. I think the mince is half price at £1 but I have never tried it so fretting if it will be greasy horrid and a waste of moneyI use it for chilli and I drain the fat off so how bad can it be?
