Morning all. Went to local grocers shop and spent £21.36 on veg, fruit and other bits.
After doing my shopping list I found that a lot of the stuff I needed would not be available in Lidl. Decided to go to Mr T instead to stock up cupboards and use £5 of £50 spend. Shopping came to £67.03 and after deducting money off coupon and other coupons paid £60.39. I feel like I have spent quite a lot being only two days into the month. We should only need a max of £15 weekly for top ups so fingers crossed I can do this.Aiming to be debt free as of Sept 2013
Loan amount owing £193.66/£774.64.

Well May was a bust, 550 instead of the 350 i was aiming for. We did lots of little shops cos hubby didnt do a list for a couple of weeks and he keeps buying stuff to fill the cupboards and freezers. We have loads of Simon rimmer packet meals, which he keeps buying as they are on offer. Problem is no one but him likes them! Im going to go for £350 again this month and will ban him from packets!!Grocery Challenge Feb 16 £346 /4000

Morning all.
I am going to try and not spend anything until Friday. I don't need anything, as i have done the weekly shop already.
A new pannier market has opened in the nearest town, so i might pop into there on Friday (food shopping day) and see what the prices of their fruit/veg is like.
I normally get my fruit and veg from a mix of tesco, asda, aldi and morrisions, so i'll have to compare the prices.
I long to be able to buy meat from the butchers and fruit/veg from the greengrocer, but the butchers here is SO expensive, and we don't have a greengrocer.
Where do you all buy your fruit/veg/salad stuff?
I also must get back to meal planning! So going to whip up a plan today. Reducing our meat and alcohol consumption has reduced my weekly shopping bill a lot.0 -
Hi All-I have been AWOL again due to yet more family tragedies. Lost MIL a few weeks ago and now Step-dad has had a serious stroke and has been in hospital for about 6 weeks so far. Nearing the end now poor soul. So-the long and the short of it is I have not been keeping track but fairly certain that I am about in budget as it is such an old established habit!
I am going to start keeping track again from this month(I hope) so my end of year will be estimated based on six months of the year.
We now have 2 cats-so another mouth to feed-our dear old cat also passed away a couple of months ago-it just goes on and on!
However-the sun is shining and all is well generally-apart from having 2 kids at home-one on JSL and one on nothing at all because he lost his job through doing something daft(not bad just daft).
I am still working so that is a blessing and we can manage ok. I have been busy keeping the house together-getting repairs done since hubby passed away last year and that has all been expense. So a few jobs done and a few to go but I did treat myself to a garage door opener (I've waited 18 years for it)after I had decluttered the garage and had a new roof on it! Anyway-back on topic-I need to prepare dinner and do a little shopping!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

It's a market, with stalls and things. I presume there will be fruit and veg (locally grown).0
