    Hi Sea
Glad you had a good xmas and birthday. Sorry to hear about OH, but well done on the ultimatum.

I REALLY REALLY hope that this time is THE time as far as your OH is concerned. There have been so many times (even in the short time you have been on here), when he was meant to be changing etc, and yet it didin't happen. So I have everything crossed that you don't have to act on that ultimatum. It sounds to me as if there is an accepted drinking culture in his family. Is that true? If so it may be a very hard habit to break.

best of luck with this journey. I don't post often because usually everyone else has said what I would have said! But I truely hope, for you and a lot of the regulars that 2008 IS YOUR YEAR!:D

  • Very best of luck for you and OH. It's a shame his family would put pressure on him to drink, why on earth do people ever do that?

If he's not doing what they're doing - because he has a problem. What do they have?

Hi all - braved the shops today - eek! Spent long enough to graba few presents and some underwear from M&S before running away again. Won't go shopping with OH and kids again for a while I think!

Been busy today - tree down, decorations away, Sophia's room tidied and sorted - lots of new toys put away etc. Living room sorted a little more - at least there is a little more room for toys now the tree has gone down! William is having his second night in his big boy bed (just his cot bed converted) and is loving it! :)

Written a few of my thank you cards but still a few to go - eek! Got everything ready for the kids for tomorrow (back at work) and just need to polish Sophia's shoes. Then I need to tackle the dining room and kitchen - but will do as much as I can in a short time as I need to get an early night tonight! I went to Boots today and got a few pressies and lots of lovely points :)

DFW wise - think I need to amend my sig, but not sure if the CCCS has the wrong details for one of the debts that has passed to the DCA as it seems to have 'lost' £1000. I don't for a second think that this has happened and it's probably just CCCS not recording it correctly. I will ring later in the week - will ring the DCA's to get current balances I think. Anyhoo, it needs to be amended to show balance reducing :D Hurray! Finally going down down down. My aim for the end of the year is to get below £20000 and OH is quite keen on getting on saving to get rid of the barclaycard debt, which would reduce the balance and bring the DFD date forward a bit :) But we shall see as he needs to clear his CC first - but with him not drinking he won't be spending upwards of £180 a month so that's good. We are also (well me) going to stop smoking -started it up again a whlie ago and while it's only a couple after the kids go down, it all adds up. So tonight is da one for me :) OH says he's not bothered about smoking when he's not drinking so that takes care of that for him!!

He's still not had a drink, but whether his complete character change will continue I'm not sure :) We shall see.

Hope all are well and as usual, thank you so much for all the support! I've been blown away by it all and I really appreciate it all.
