But have you even had any feedback yet on what was wrong with your first interview? You've only been for one so far!!

Remember what I was saying about Thomas Edison & the light bulb? Every time he failed he said "I've found another way NOT to make a light bulb"

Treat every interview as a learning experience.

Incidentally, I'm crap at interviews and always spend hours preparing because I simply haven't had many. I've had three interviews in my entire life.

I have learnt a lot from that interview. I have got feedback and I failed because I had no experience of using a till which is a very poor reason.

Probably on the day they had an interviewee who HAS worked a till.

They won't expect you to know everything, but obviously if someone has more skills than you then they will choose them.

    Just keep trying.

I thought it was a library job, not one at a till?

At the end of the day, I suppose they chose the candidate who they considered to need less training.

Have you reall not had any experience of using a till? Perhaps you could volunteer to work in a charity shop, so as to get some experiene.

Why is having no experience of using a till not a good reason for not getting a job which needs you to use a till? If I was interviewing two people for the job who were just on a par with each other, but one could already use a till, guess which one I'd choose? The one I wouldn't have to spend much time training to use a till.

I thought that the job you applied for was inputting figures into a database

It does have small amount of cash work in it as far as I can work out. So if people buy photocopies of stuff, for example.

It had some database stuff in it but a bit of cash work if people bought any copies or that sort of thing.

I have found another job which involves taking money to the bank and post boy and I am experienced in taking cash to the bank as I count my pennies into bags of £1. So I might have more luckk with this one.

I have never used a till before, no.

But it can not be that hard surely.
