Phil - have you tried phoning them ? Maybe they want someone proactive...0
-
I think you should phone and ask if they have made any progress with their decision. Would put your mind at ease one way or another.0

I have phoned and did not get it due to someone better on the day.:beer:0

I'm sorry you didn't get the job Phil, but the interview is good practice. Most people have to try for a while and apply for several, if not many, jobs. Use what you have learned from this experience and keep applying.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Well at least you know now and can look for something else and learn from the experience. Hope you don't feel too bad, there will be another job out there that has your name all over it!0

Phil I am sorry that you didn't get the job but you have to put it out of your mind now and move on - this happens to us all! I know I have told you on more than one occasion about going to see the disabled employment advisor at the job centre (not just go there and see anyone but ask to see the DEA person) to look at different jobs and options. Your reply to this was that you would do this as a last resort, but I do think you should go along now - you will not be pushed into making any decision and are not obligated to take up anything. This may give you many more options.0

You are clearly one of the good HR managers - I am amazed by the number of friends who apply for jobs, and then hear nothing. Or go for an interview, and hear nothing. It's so rude.
One of my friends, who works for a large public service body, is wonderful at his job, and his superiors have told him he needs to be promoted. But HR won't let his managers promote him, because he "hasn't been in his job for the pre-requisite 2 years". I hear this sort of thing so much.
HR managers and union jobsworths can be one of the main trials of office work............
Jeez - I wish I had a pound for every time I have locked horns with them.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
It looks like my dream of ever working at a university is over.
So I just don't know any more what there is to aim for.:beer:0 -

I think I am going to have to go and ask for help because I am unemployable at the moment it would seem. It is sad really after all these years of struggle and hard work to end up unemployable and worthless.
Thanks, maybe it for the best I did not get it.:beer:0
