A philosophy degree plus all the school qualifications must qualify me to do something and sure it qualifes me to do basic admin work.

tbh? About as much as it would qualify you to work in a shop or fly a plane. Sign up with a temping agency and see if they do training in reception or office admin.

Everyone keeps saying all these jobs but I don't know where they are. Temp agencies are flooded with students and they just don't want anymore at the moment. So where these jobs are I don't know.

I personally used https://www.reed.co.uk - its where all the temp agencies, or most of them place their temp adverts. So all you do is register, submit your cv and then click on the jobs your interested in, you can search by industry, there is huge demand for admin jobs - when i was "short-listing" jobs - i could of applied for 36 admin type roles just on this one site - this was until i got my current temporary job which is kinda using my law degree...a bit.

This site also does permanent jobs aswell - many companies recruit through agencies so it would be my essential starting point.

I've been to several temp agencies to register and to be honest they weren't over-run with students, not all students rely on temp agencies !!

Nights are just as busy as day. Late check ins, guest enquiries, compiling reports, managing the porters etc.. will keep you on your toes. Quebecs will train you as you gain invaluable insight into hotel operations. You will also have the opportunity to complete an NVQ. As you'll be working with all the hotel departments and guests, you'll need to be an excellent communicator.
