A refund from where? When something like this is too good to be true it means it is. There's nothing legal about these codes and you've got no chance of gettng the money back from anywhere.

so the codes are sold as illegal? no

refund from either the seller or my credit card via a charge back if they will do it

They're not sold "as illegal" but they are illegal, otherwise account suspensions wouldn't be happening, would they? The seller had changed payment methods and websites numerous times and no one is getting their money.

The seller isn't going to refund you, he has his fortunes from selling illegitimate codes and will be in the Bahamas about now.

You could try a charge-back but you willingly paid for a very dodgy item. All the signs were pointing to this not being kosher, it's up to you not to succum to being enticed by too-good-to-be-true offers that blatantly aren't what they seem.

No he doesn't, he says REDEEM it within 24 hours (or whatever the number is), there's nothing to do with spending at all.

This account suspension by Apple just shows how illegal this really is.

    oh ok then.
These are short expiry vouchers, please redeem and spend credit within 24 hours of recieving your code

Other people have ones with 48 hours in them (but not to spend, just redeem). He can't seem to make his mind up!

Well arnt :T Apple :T nice people.. Told them the hole story and my account is back on.

    Wont make that mistake again
  • I have also had this happen to me. I bought a voucher and had my account disabled. I have emailed Apple with all the details about the seller, asked for my account to be returned to 0.00 and to unauthorize what was bought - I will not have non-legal stuff on my computer.

I have also initiated a dispute with Paypal - although I don't care what happens at the moment - I just would rather take it as a lesson learned and not be in the middle of some sort of scam!!!

Hope Apple reactivates my account though.

"i will not have non-legal stuff on my computer"

the code wasnt really legal was it? so therefore if you had of used it then the songs would be illegal as some poor sods credit card company had to pay for it.

Looks like i was right on page 5 or what ever it was on the thread, theres no way these could ever have been kosher. he emailed me pimping his codes last week, but i wasnt going to buy them.

Easy way to lauder credit card money i suppose...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I did not find this message board until just this evening, and I was under the impression that the vouchers were ones that were getting rid of because they were close to their expiry date - obviously unfortunately this appears not to be the case!

I really am very Anti-piracy, so I will buy what I can, and if I can't buy it, I don't have it. :o

Hopefully Apple can sort this out. Nevertheless, looking at giftvouchersuk's eBay feedback, it looks like there a heck of a lot of people with the vouchers now - going back to before June - why had this not been stopped quicker?!

Always the way with fraud aint it mate, takes ages to pick up then ages to track where the money has gone then more time to contact the company(apple) and prove to them it was fraud, then they stop it.

I understand that your account was disabled due to a fraudulent gift certificate purchase.

You'll want to address the issue with to the seller, or use any dispute resolution service provided by the auction website or other remedies that might otherwise be available to you.

If you reply with verification of the billing address for the account "robertcamb5," I'll be happy to enable it for you.

Thanks for your understanding. I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,
Now I just have to deal with paypal.
