Apple's response.....
Dear Alex,
Your account was disabled because the purchaser of an iTunes Gift Certificate redeemed to your account has refuted the charges with his or her credit card company.
When charges are reported as unauthorized, any remaining iTunes Store credit from the disputed purchase is considered unauthorized and is removed from the account.
If you purchased the iTunes Gift Certificate on an auction website, it may have been part of a fraud claim. You may want to address the issues with your purchase to the seller, or use any dispute resolution service provided by the auction website or other remedies that might otherwise be available to you.
If the iTunes Gift Certificate was purchased from Apple, the buyer will need to contact his or her credit card company to discuss the disputed purchase.
If you could please reply to this email with your account's billing information, we would be happy to re-enable the account for you.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Thomas

40 hours for me too - and zilch apart from a stalling email from the seller.
I once won a bottle of single malt in a pub Xmas raffle and when I got up to collect the bottle realised I'd lost my ticket! Same, sinking feeling this morning seeing all these 'my account disabled' messages.
I've asked him for a refund and will be complaining to Paypal if he doesn't respond this morning. Glad I didn't fork out for more than the £100 itunes deal.0 -
Same email from itunes, just mine was from Fred ha ha, you gotta laugh. £21 down, but ,i will get it back

Have iTunes now rumbled these fantastic discounts???
I've actually purchased £500 of vouchers from various sellers on eBay, but the offers seem to have dried up recently and the vouchers have become more expensive. Started at £15 a couple of months ago and now the average is over £30.
I was always very sceptical but they've all worked perfectly - in fact one of the first vouchers was from itunesvouchers.co.uk which was fine. The site later disappeared, but and it would seem resurfaced as giftvouchersuk.com. Anyway took the plunge 2 days ago and made a purchase by PayPal directly through that website for £22. Still no voucher and even if it does come through (which I doubt) Im not sure I want to risk having my iTunes account suspended.
Whats the best course of action now?????Some days you're the bird......and some days you're the statue :cool:0 -

This account suspension by Apple just shows how illegal this really is.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
