Call me naive if you like but when they promised me on Thursday that it'd be in by 5pm Thursday, I believe them. Didn't think they could fail to do it again.
I am just hoping it'll be there first thing Tuesday. You can usually check your account online after about 2am and then know if its there. I'm not sleeping (understandably) so I will know before 8am whether I've got to get into town to sort it (bus fares?). It'll be a goid walk for the kids but will keep them fit. Although they just tell you to ring up to sort it.
Please answer the questions about your location. Somebody here may be able to help you. I will if I'm within 20 miles of you.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I'm confused. If the OP had to start claiming IS within the last two years then surely she would have migrated on to the new system? Or am I missing something?0

Not as far as I'm aware. Frankly I would consider a PDL to be much the lesser of two evils whilst considering shoplifting as an alternative and in the OP's situation, I would certainly try to obtain one.
Not ideal in a normal scenario but the family must be able to eat.0 -
Definitely find a food bank or soup kitchen. Nothing wrong with sending your children to eat at Sunday School, any true Christians would never want any child to go hungry. You can always make a small donation when you have a little money again.
It's really sad you don't have any friends, maybe join some groups like Sure Start?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

They cant do payments because they do not have access to 91 0n Legacy.
The OP said she has been promised twice a same day banking and had spoken to a manager Thursday.
They can trace memos and phone calls even when nothing is notified in the note pad , we just have to do a trace on hot
I think she has been very patient and in this case its not a memo, a priority duplicate but an Escalation, and this would be more then justified
And even a complaint
If there is no reason to why the payment has not gone out,
Its easier to make a payment then get repeated memos believe me....
and the call centers may be bad but they know when a payment is due and hopefully wouldnt say, yes its on its way when its clearly not
You cannot have an escalation or a priority without a failed callback immediately before it. If she had a callback and was promised a payment..... when she calls again -as far as callbacks are concerned- she goes back to the start of the process and gets a standard callback.
I know contact centres don't issue payments which is why I said "dont trust the word of the first agent you speak to ....ask for (insist on) a callback" Contact centres do regularly tell customers that the payment "is on it's way" "will be with you today/tomorrow" because they rely on BC notes. Those notes are not very specific, sometimes the BC leaves the CC agents guessing as to what is going on because the notes left are very poor -sometimes there are no notes at all- but it looks like a payment may have been made. The CC agents are under a lot of pressure not to do a handoff because they get counted and told not to exceed their targets.0 -

.
You CAN
Sometime they send an ordinary call back as an Escalation, so we Jif them, but still they do it.
Sometimes a priority duplicate when there has been no sign of the first
or if they do send the memo they fail get the info we need when it clearly states in the notepad whats required..
But if they can see that there has been a memo on the subject before they will resend the original memo as a priority duplicate or escalation.
They can view the dialogues and payment screens and can see due dates and if the payment has gone out.
Also outstanding case controls that will stop payments.
So I would hope again if they cant see the payment after checking the above then they hopefully wouldn't, just say its on its way as in the OPs case it clearly wasn't
But its a job I couldn't do to and they do their best.0 -
Can't remember who asked if I have a partner, but no I don't.
I spoke to someone at the church today and whilst they don't run a foodbank, they said they'd sort something & took my details. Had the Easter meal at the church and middle of the afternoon someone came round to our house with enough stuff for 3 meals a day at least until Tuesday. Someone's been clearing out their cupboards. Was very grateful so we're sorted until Tuesday when I can try to sort a payment out or at least get proper foodbank tokens. Nicest thing was there were 3 big chocolate bars in one carrier and the man said its not an Easter egg but its still chocolate. I thought that was a really nice touch for the kids.0 -
I think it must have been your previous posts that mentioned a partner that confused thingsalexandrajj wrote: »Can't remember who asked if I have a partner, but no I don't.

I'm so relieved to read that your Church have helped out. :j I would willingly have given you some bags of food, and isn't it nice to see so many posters would have done the same.
The person/people who told you "yes, the money will definitely go in today" , and it didn't, should be made to live like you have had to, and see how they like it.
Not only is this a lack of common courtesy, but in your circumstances, it was dreadful, and showing a complete disregard for the welfare of you and your children.
I sincerely hope that you and your family enjoy the rest of Easter, and wish you all the best.

In case of problems in the future, can I suggest you buy a bag of rice/ pasta and some canned food that you can put away for emergencies?0
